  • Patent number: 5090584
Abstract: Disclosed is a disposable container lid for releasably mounting to a disposable container. The lid includes a central portion having a rim engaging means about the circumference of the central portion. An access strip is provided by a pair of tear impressions extending from the rim engaging means to a hinge means located in the central portion. By breaking the tear impressions, the access strip can be pivoted back from the hinge means to create an access opening through the lid. The central portion of the lid has a primary slit therein which is preferably arcuate. At each end of the primary slit there is a tab forming slit, each forming an inwardly directed retaining flap. A deflection flap is formed by the combination of the primary slit and the tab forming slits. To lock the access strip in a non-interfering position, it is folded back and pushed against the central portion of the lid thereby causing the deflection flap to deflect down toward the contents of the container.

  • Patent number: 5064158
Abstract: The shelf support is of the type which extends along the whole of the rear of a glass shelf. The shelf is inserted in a slot formed between a support member and a retaining member so that the shelf is retained as a cantilever. The retaining member carries an elastically-deformable strip which has a main part and spaced protuberances along its bottom. The retaining member is also of special construction, being of generally triangular shape with a slot in its bottom for receiving an upwards projection on the strip and holding the strip in position along the underside of the retaining member.

  • Patent number: 4404918
Abstract: The invention relates to a seed planter having furrow forming means in association with a pair of furrow closing wheels each of which is independently mounted relative to the suspension of the other so that each spring biased suspension arm is pivotable to enable each closing wheel to be raised, or lowered, independently of the other wheel in response to ground conditions encountered in the operation of the planter. The closing wheel mounting also includes means for adjustment of each wheel whereby the angle of attack of each wheel may be varied and importantly enable adjustment of the wheel spacing so that the distance between the wheels can be adjusted and enabling the wheels to be set to run straight with the direction of travel of the planter and at any desired seed planting depth.

  • Patent number: 4326000
Abstract: Disclosed is a unitary or integral laminate-like fibrous web having a first and second surface region and a central core region which has less fiber concentration than the first surface region. The first surface region has a surface disposition of bonding material disposed only in that region to form a strong, abrasion-resistant surface. The central core region has a penetrating disposition of bonding material extending through that region in a fine, spaced-apart pattern occupying less area in the plane of the web than the surface bonding material in the first surface region. The penetrating bonding material in the central core region penetrates entirely through that region and connects the first and second surface regions together by penetrating to at least within a fiber thickness of the web surface to provide abrasion-resistance for that surface region.

  • Patent number: 4000237
Abstract: The method of the invention consists of forming a web of substantially planar-aligned fibers, applying a surface disposition of bonding material to one side of the web to penetrate only part way through the web in order to form a first surface region having the surface bonding material and a central core region free from the surface bonding material and bounded on the side opposite the first surface region by a second surface region, applying a penetrating disposition of bonding material to one side of the web in a fine, spaced-apart pattern which occupies less area in the plane of the web than the surface bonding material in the first surface region and penetrates through the central core region to connect the first and second surface regions together, and creping the web to decrease the fiber concentration in the central core region to less than that in the first surface region.

  • Patent number: 3940529
Abstract: Disclosed is a non-nested, two-ply, absorbent fibrous sheet material consisting of two webs which each have a plurality of crests and depressions on its surface facing the other web. The crests on each web are positioned between the crests of the other web and are spaced from the depressions of the other web to leave spaces in the sheet material for increased absorbency and bulk. The two webs are joined together at locations intermediate the crests and depressions of at least one of the webs, preferably by mechanical welding in a manner which produces perforations in the sheet material. Also disclosed is the method and apparatus for making the two-ply sheet material.
