  • Patent number: 11440440
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a modular autonomous-vehicle interior. In particular, an autonomous vehicle can comprise an interior comprising a plurality of different and distinct regions. Each of the regions can comprise one or more mechanical interfaces associated therewith. The autonomous vehicle can also include, for each of one or more of the regions, at least one modular interior unit comprising an interior element and a base mechanically interfaced with the interior via the mechanical interface(s) associated with the region.

    Assignee: UATC, LLC
Inventors: Johad Husseini Ellis, Clifford Shaun Webb
  • Publication number: 20210094820
Abstract: Systems and methods for maintaining autonomous vehicle operator awareness are provided. A method can include determining, by a computing system, an awareness challenge for an operator of a vehicle. The awareness challenge can be based on object data. The awareness challenge can have one or more criteria. The criteria can include a challenge response interval, a response time, and an action for satisfying the awareness challenge. The method can include initiating, by the computing system, a timer measuring elapsed time from a start time of the challenge response interval. The method can include communicating to the operator, by the computing system, a soft notification indicative of the awareness challenge during the challenge response interval. The method can include determining, by the computing system, whether the operator provides a user input after the response time interval and whether the user input corresponds to the action for satisfying the awareness challenge.

  • Patent number: 10569663
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to autonomous vehicle platforms and autonomous vehicles including such platforms. For example, an autonomous vehicle can include a bisymmetrical platform including a first portion, a second portion, a third portion and a fourth portion that collectively provide a supporting structure for the autonomous vehicle and that respectively comprise a wheel mounting frame configured for location of a wheel assembly. A body including front and rear sides and first and second lateral sides can be positioned on top of the bisymmetrical platform configured to receive passengers for transport. The autonomous vehicle can also include a plurality of wheel assemblies configured for secure positioning relative to each wheel mounting frame within the bisymmetrical platform and a powertrain configured to power the plurality of wheel assemblies for operation of the autonomous vehicle to travel in either a forward direction or a rear direction.

  • Publication number: 20190213529
Abstract: A network computer system communicates with a sensor platform that includes to obtain sensor information of at least a portion of a freight load. Based on the sensor information, the network computer system evaluates at least a portion of the freight load for at least one of size, shape or weight. Based on the evaluation, the network computer system determines an organizational structure for the freight load. The network computer system generates a set of instructions for loading individual items of at least the portion of the freight load in accordance with the organizational structure. The network computer system transmits data corresponding to the set of instructions to a computing device of the operator, to cause the computing device to generate a graphical guide for loading individual items at specific locations within the freight container.
