  • Patent number: 8562089
Abstract: A retainer including a front wall, a back wall, and opposing side walls defining a ring having a central opening is removably attached to a liner of a refrigerator door at a position spaced above a shelving unit. With this arrangement, a tall food item supported on the shelving unit and having an upper portion which projects through the central opening is prevented from falling when the refrigerator door is opened. A divider may be slidably attached to the retainer or shelving unit for laterally retaining the tall food items on the shelving unit in a snug configuration.

  • Patent number: 7407240
Abstract: A mullion is attached to a cabinet shell of a refrigerator through the use of a retainer that includes a laterally extending portion positioned between primary and secondary flanges of the cabinet shell, and a longitudinally extending portion that is interengaged with additional flange structure defined by the mullion. Clips formed on the retainer engage wall portions formed by the mullion flange structure to secure the retainer to the mullion. A tab formed on the retainer engages a keyhole formed in the secondary flange of the cabinet shell, thereby aiding in securing the retainer to the cabinet and preventing the mullion from undesirably shifting in either a horizontal or vertical manner.

  • Patent number: 7293846
Abstract: A refrigerator includes a storage bin assembly removably mounted to an inner liner of a door. The storage bin assembly includes a base portion having a frontal opening, and a face portion. The frontal opening is defined by first and second side portions, as well as a bottom portion. Each of the side portions is provided with a mounting component and a mounting element. The face portion includes top, bottom and opposing side sections, with each of the opposing side sections being provided with a mounting member and a mounting part. The mounting component interengages with the mounting member and the mounting element interengages with the mounting part upon snap-fittingly securing the face portion to the base portion across the frontal opening.

  • Patent number: 6932449
Abstract: A beverage rack is configured to selectively store cylindrical cans, a series of bottles, or a single wine bottle in a refrigerator. More specifically, the beverage rack is provided with an elongated cavity for holding a wine bottle, a pair of spaced ledges for supporting a plurality of cans, and a set of ridges on longitudinal walls which accommodate a series of medium size bottles. With this arrangement, a consumer has the flexibility to choose the particular type of beverages to be stored and organized on a single rack. The rack is preferably injection molded of plastic and can be placed in various locations within a refrigerator compartment, such as on a shelf or in a drawer.

  • Patent number: 6745578
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically shifting a bail arm of an automatic ice maker upon repositioning an ice storage bin carried by a slidable freezer drawer or basket includes a wedge member arranged just above a rear wall of the bin, preferably between the bin and a rear wall of the basket. The wedge member defines a frontal wedge portion that generally tapers laterally and rearwardly from a wide section to a narrow section. As the bin is shifted out of the freezer compartment, the bail arm initially engages the wide section of the frontal wedge portion, then rides up the frontal wedge portion, and subsequently rides along an opposing, rear wedge portion of the wedge member. This action is reversed upon sliding the bin back into place beneath the ice maker to gently repositioned the bale arm over the ice bin.
