  • Patent number: 10184831
Abstract: A method for calibrating a test light to simulate a fire includes measuring a baseline resistance induced in a sensor cell of a two-color detector in response to a controlled fire. The method includes monitoring a test resistance induced in the sensor cell in response to exposure to emissions from a test light and adjusting the emissions of the test light until the test resistance of the sensor cell equals the baseline resistance of the sensor cell to achieve a calibration setting for the test light. A test light for a detector includes a housing and a first LED within the housing having a first emission wavelength. A second LED is within the housing. The second LED has a second emission wavelength. The second emission wavelength is different than the first emission wavelength.

  • Patent number: 5347205
Abstract: A blender is provided with a microprocessor for controlling energization of the blender drive motor, and a plurality of manually actuated switches for controlling the stepping of the microprocessor through a program which determines the mode and pattern of energization of the drive motor. There are N speed range selection switches, M speed selection switches and a pulse mode switch. Depending on the sequence in which these switches are actuated, the microprocessor controls the drive motor in a manual continuous mode at any one of N.times.M speeds, a manual pulse mode at any one of N.times.M speeds or an autopulse mode with any one of three patterns of energization. In the first pattern of energization the motor is energized to run at one of M constant speeds during intervals T1 which are separated by intervals T2 during which the motor is not energized.

  • Patent number: 5001969
Abstract: An automatic drip coffee maker (10) includes a timer circuit (42) for providing a preselected "start" time of day at which an activation/deactivation circuit (40) will activate the automatic drip coffee maker and a "stop" time of day, independent of said start time of day at which the activation/deactivation circuit (40) will deactivate the automatic drip coffee maker and prevent further reactivation thereof. A "next-day-reset" switch (58) allows manual resetting so that the activation/deactivation repeats the start/stop cycle at the same preselected "start", "stop" times of day on the next day. An auto access button allows creation of an artificial start signal for initiating the cycle immediately.
