Patent number: 11965965Abstract: The technology relates to localizing a vehicle. As one approach, a first LIDAR sensor scan data of an environment of the vehicle and localization data for the vehicle at a location where the first LIDAR sensor scan was captured are stored. Thereafter, the computing device is suspended and subsequently unsuspended. After the computing device is unsuspended, second LIDAR sensor scan data of the vehicle's environment is received. The first LIDAR sensor scan data is compared to the second LIDAR sensor scan data to determine whether the vehicle has moved. Based on the determination of whether the vehicle has moved from the location, the stored localization data is used to localize the vehicle. Other approaches are also described.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Waymo LLCInventors: Mingcheng Chen, Colin Braley, Craig Lewin Robinson, Christian Lauterbach

Publication number: 20240115508Abstract: Nanocrystals, compositions, and methods that aid particle transport in mucus are provided. In some embodiments, the compositions and methods involve making mucus-penetrating particles (MPP) without any polymeric carriers, or with minimal use of polymeric carriers. The compositions and methods may include, in some embodiments, modifying the surface coatings of particles formed of pharmaceutical agents that have a low water solubility. Such methods and compositions can be used to achieve efficient transport of particles of pharmaceutical agents though mucus barriers in the body for a wide spectrum of applications, including drug delivery, imaging, and diagnostic applications. In certain embodiments, a pharmaceutical composition including such particles is well-suited for administration routes involving the particles passing through a mucosal barrier.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Alexey Popov, Elizabeth M. Publication number: 20240000266Abstract: System involved with but not limited to an apparatus including a temperature control system capable of quickly heating a grill to a precise and consistent temperature using a plurality of gas burners and associated electronic control method thereof. In an exemplary non-limiting application, the system uses a solenoid valve to control flow to a plurality of motorized modulating valves, which in turn modulate gas flow to a gas burner. The apparatus and method of use thereof is capable of producing precise cooking temperatures by adjusting the volume of gas flow to the burners via motorized modulating valves, allowing for more precise and consistent cooking temperatures than systems utilizing valves featuring only a limited number of positions, such as open or closed, or high flow or low flow.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2023Publication date: January 4, 2024Applicant: Nexgrill Industries, Inc.Inventors: Joe Burch, Colin Chen Joehy
