  • Patent number: 9295825
Abstract: A connector assembly has a connector (10) with a fluid leadthrough (20) and a contact device (14). The contact device has an essentially planar contact surface (16) and a fluid leadthrough opening (18) passing through the contact surface (16). A sterile covering (64) sterilely covers at least part of the contact surface (16) and/or an end of the fluid leadthrough opening (20) adjacent the contact surface (16). A coupling device (22) is provided in proximity to the contact surface (16) outwardly from the fluid leadthrough opening (18). The connector assembly further includes a complementary connector (12) with a complementary coupling device (34) that can engage with the coupling device (22) along a coupling direction (40) that is essentially parallel to the contact surface (16).

  • Patent number: 7678096
Abstract: A connector system (10) for producing a sterile connection includes a fluid conduit (32), an engagement device (14, 22) designed to engage with a complementary engagement device (16, 24) of a complementary connector (12), a displacement device (26) with a substantially plane displacement surface (30) and a fluid conduit aperture (60) which extends through the displacement surface (30) and is connected to the fluid conduit (32), with the displacement device (26) being designed to displace the connector (12) and the complementary connector (12) relative to one another in a displacement direction (40) after the engagement device (14, 22) has engaged with the complementary engagement device (16, 24), and with the displacement direction (40) being substantially parallel to the displacement surface (30), and a sterile cover device (20, 74) designed to cover at least the fluid conduit aperture (60) in a sterile manner.

  • Publication number: 20090050213
Abstract: The invention relates to a connector (10) comprising: a fluid leadthrough (20); a contact device (14); an essentially planar contact surface (16), and; a fluid leadthrough opening (18), which is designed for leading fluid though, the fluid leadthrough opening (18) passing through the contact surface (16); a sterile covering (64) designed for sterilely covering, at least in part, the contact surface (16) and/or an end of the fluid leadthrough opening (20) facing the contact surface, and; a coupling device (22), which is designed for engaging with a complementary coupling device (34) of a complementary connector (12) along a coupling direction, the coupling device (40) being essentially parallel to the contact surface (16). The invention also relates to relates to a connector system, to a use of a connector (10) and to a complementary connector (12) for connecting a fluid supply of the connector (10) to a fluid discharge in a sterile manner.
