Publication number: 20050060211Abstract: Techniques for delivering data for coordinating multiple party use of a facility include producing conditions data by measuring without human intervention current condition of a facility that is used by multiple human parties. Availability data that indicates present or future availability for the facility is generated based at least in part on the conditions data. Coordination data based at least in part on the availability data is presented for the parties. These techniques allow rapid dynamic adaptation to changing status of a high-value facility while being less reliant on varied and subjective human motivations for reporting status changes. Undue exposure of sensitive information can be avoided by deriving less detailed views from high-resolution images of the facility and its users. Coordination data can be projected directly onto, and manual input can be derived from, a magnetic white board currently used for coordination at many facilities.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2004Publication date: March 17, 2005Inventors: Yan Xiao, Fu Hu, F. Seagull, Colin MacKenzie

Patent number: 4890174Abstract: A very high capacity, closed-loop Winchester disk drive system particularly suited to meet the demands of a portable computer system is disclosed. The micro-Winchester disk is a Winchester disk of 95 mm in diameter. The disk drive system of the present invention, by virtue of its small size and vibration isolation, is ideally suited for use in portable computer systems. The micro-Winchester disk drive system was developed to store data at a density in excess of 1000 tracks per inch utilizing a closed-loop rotary voice coil positioning mechanism. This disk drive system provides fast access data storage for use with small business computers, terminals and microprocessor-based systems, portable or otherwise, and many other areas where compact, rugged, and lightweight hard disk storage is required. The disk drive system of the present invention normally utilizes between two and four hard disks, such as Winchester disks, with one disk containing a dedicated servo surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1987Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Rodime PLCInventors: Brian D.
