  • Publication number: 20240128894
Abstract: An example electrostatic machine includes a number of stator plates, each having a stator electrode and rotationally fixed to a housing, a shaft at least partially defined within the housing and configured to rotate about an axis, and a number of rotor plates, each having a rotor electrode and rotational fixed to the shaft. The electrostatic machine includes a dielectric fluid disposed in the housing, and that fills a gap between the stator plates and the rotor plates. The electrostatic machine includes a seal associated with the shaft, where the seal includes a material compatible with the dielectric fluid.

  • Patent number: 11944917
Abstract: A computer system and method for synchronizing actions associated with media between a media/network device and peripherals. In an example implementation, a system includes a one or more processors configured to receive, by a communication module from a media/network device based on peripheral addressing information, a peripheral payload including a first set of actions and timing information related to media. The one or more processors perform the first set of actions based on the peripheral payload, generate response data for the first set of actions, and transmit the response data to the media/network device via a wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20200242973
Abstract: An anatomical structure model includes a first component defining a first part of the anatomical structure and a second component defining a second part of the anatomical structure. Each of the first and second components define a respective opening and the two components are adapted to be placed in an assembled position to define an insert receiving passage between the first component and the second component. An insert of the model includes an insert peripheral edge structure extending around a periphery thereof, and is adapted to be received in an operating position between the first component and the second component. A connector arrangement detachably connects the first component and the second component in the assembled position with the insert in the operating position.

  • Patent number: 10728372
Abstract: A holder for holding a mobile electronic device to an object, the holder having two first openings, a first communication path, two second openings, and a second communication path. The two first openings form a first set of openings. The first communication path connects the first openings so a securing device can be fed into one of the first openings and out of the other of the first openings. The two second openings form a second set of openings. The second communication path connects the second openings so that the securing device can be fed into one of the second openings and out of the other of the second openings. The first openings are spaced apart from the second openings so the securing device can be secured to the holder at the first and second sets of openings, and additionally wrapped around the object to secure the holder thereto.

  • Patent number: 8784171
Abstract: A method and apparatus for modeling a track in video games that enables efficient collision detection between a game object (such as a racecar wheel) and the track. The invention provides an infinitely smooth track for use in collision detection through the novel use of arcs and splines. The invention enables relatively small amounts of data to be used to model and express relatively large gameplay courses, such as race tracks and the like. The arcs and splines enables quick and efficient look-up of the location of the tire on the track and calculation of the distance from the wheel to the track for loading purposes.

  • Patent number: 7899770
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of multiple criteria decision making. In particular, a method of maintaining a complex article is described that includes the steps of; (a) taking a set of options for replacing each of a plurality of components of the complex article, (b) identifying an optimum solution set from the set of possible replacement options of step (a) that best satisfies a plurality of criteria and (c) implementing an optimum solution of the optimum solution set. The step of identifying an optimum solution set comprises the step of evaluating a plurality of potential solutions from the set of possible options defined in step (a) against the plurality of criteria.
