  • Publication number: 20030147604
Abstract: A grounding and transition assembly for providing combined electrical grounding and distributed transition of a bundle of fiber optic strands associated with a fiber optic cable. The assembly includes a three dimensional housing having an assembleable top and bottom and defining a first section proximate an inlet end for seating an inserting end of the fiber optic cable. The assembleable top and bottom further defining a second substantially open interior section communicable with the first section and extending to an open outlet end. A grounding cable has a first end secured to the three dimensional housing, a second end of the grounding cable securing to a remote location from said housing and providing for conducting of electrical charge associated with the fiber optic cable away from the housing. A three dimensional insert sealingly engages within the second interior section and includes a plurality of interiorly defined apertures.

  • Patent number: 5961698
Abstract: A twin tower gas drying system for cleaning and drying a stream of unpurified pressurized gas received from a source thereof for use of a pneumatic system. The drying system includes a manifold block provided with the plurality of ports. A separator and sump is connected to such block and to one of the ports for initially separating moisture and particulates from such stream of unpurified gas, and for directing the remainder of the stream to the one port in the block. A pair of desiccant containing canisters are threadably mounted on a surface of the block opposite that of the separator and sump by two respective threaded shuttle valves. The canisters and shuttle valves are, in addition, connected in fluid communication with certain of the ports provided in the block for supplying and removing pressurized air from the canisters. A port is provided for discharging dry clean air from the block. Other ports provided in the block exhaust purged air to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 5503280
Abstract: An improved coupler control circuit board which can be positioned in an environmentally protected location for controlling an uncoupling operation of a mechanical type coupler mechanism utilized to connect adjacently disposed ends of a pair of passenger transit type railway cars. Such coupler control circuit board includes a power supply device connected to receive a predetermined input voltage. The power supply device reduces such predetermined input voltage received therein to a suitable predetermined output voltage. A timer/sequencer device is connected to receive as inputs thereto both such predetermined output voltage from such power supply device and an uncoupling command signal from a momentary input command for providing a pair of output signals.

  • Patent number: 5449295
Abstract: An electric coupler engages a mechanical coupler disposed on a passenger transit vehicle to enable necessary electrical connections required to operate such vehicle to be achieved. Such electric coupler includes an interface device engaging both such mechanical coupler and such electric coupler for positioning the electric coupler on such mechanical coupler. A first securing device engages each of such interface device and such mechanical coupler for securing them together. A second securing device engages each of such interface device and such electric coupler for securing them together. A pair of bearing shaft members and a pair of shaft support members connected to a respective one of such pair of bearing shaft members are provided. A third securing device engages each of such interface device and such pair of shaft support members for securing them together. A pair of electric coupler box members and a pair of linear bearings are provided.
