  • Patent number: 4943596
Abstract: Silicone foams are provided which have increased tensile strength as the result of using an effective amount of a silicone polyimide block copolymer having chemically combined organovinylsiloxy units in the silicone block.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 1988
Date of Patent: July 24, 1990
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: David C. Gross, Connie L. Haig, Jonathan D. Rich
  • Patent number: 4879317
Abstract: A method is provided for reducing the density of silicone foam resulting from the generation of hydrogen gas by employing a hydride polysiloxane in the form of a mixture of linear hydride polysiloxane and cyclic hydride polysiloxane. Aqueous methanol is also found to be an effective density-reducing agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 24, 1989
Date of Patent: November 7, 1989
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Kennith A. Smith, Connie L. Haig
  • Patent number: 4851452
Abstract: A method is provided for reducing the density of silicone foam from a platinum catalyzed foamable two-package mixture of vinyl organosiloxane, organohydrogen siloxane, and hydroxylated material. The platinum catalyst used in the foamable mixture is in the form of a mixture of a platinum vinyl siloxane and a platinum triarylphosphine. A platinum catalyst mixture of platinum vinylsiloxane and triarylphosphine also has been found effective.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 1988
Date of Patent: July 25, 1989
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: David C. Gross, Larry N. Lewis, Connie L. Haig
