Abstract: Apparatus for holding a camera and flash unit so they are separated from one another, including a frame having an upper portion for holding the flash unit and a lower portion for holding the camera, and having a pair of laterally spaced handles near the lower portion. The handles are oriented so they can be held comfortably at slightly below eye level with the upper arms extending down and braced against the body and the forearms extending upwardly. One of the handles forms a palm pad lying under the camera so that the right hand can hold the pad in the palm while the thumb and middle or forefinger rest on the camera lens to turn it for focusing, or rest on the aperture ring for changing the lens opening. The other handle, which receives the left hand, is in the form of a bar which is angled from the vertical so it can be held without cramping the photographer's hand at the wrist.

Abstract: Apparatus for use with a camera and flash unit to provide diffused light, including a support frame for holding a flash unit so it emits light upwardly, and for holding a reflector screen above the flash unit and facing forwardly and downwardly to reflect light from the flash unit in a largely forward direction. The reflector screen includes a sheet of flexible reflective material and a resilient wire reflector frame for holding the reflective sheet taut and for mounting it on the support frame.

Abstract: A strap assembly for attachment to a typical 35mm camera, including a yoke with a middle portion lying against the right side of the camera and a pair of straps extending over the front or rear and then over the bottom of the camera and held by a knob threaded into the tripod socket of the camera. A finger strap mounted on the middle yoke portion is designed to firmly receive the middle, ring, and little fingers of the hand so that the camera cannot fall and yet these fingers can securely grasp the camera to hold it upright. The strap forms a loop whose axis is angled upwardly from the horizontal and inwardly towards the optical axis, so that a good grip can be obtained while the index finger of the hand is free to reach over the top of the camera to depress the shutter release button and the thumb is free to move the film advance lever.
