  • Patent number: 5025164
Abstract: An improved intensifying lead screen for use with photographic, industrial X-ray films, having a low propensity to produce electrostatic changes, is described. This screen comprises a lead foil adhesively applied to a polyester support with an overcoat or protective layer applied over the lead layer and coated thereon, a layer of a fluorosurfactant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 1990
Date of Patent: June 18, 1991
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: Lloyd G. Sidwell, Conrad E. Miller
  • Patent number: 4916011
Abstract: An element, e.g., photographic element, comprising a polymeric shaped article having available carboxyl groups on the surface thereof and which is coated with at least one permanent antistatic layer consisting essentially of the reaction produce of(1) water-soluble, electrically conductive polymer having functionally attached carboxyl groups integral to the polymer, and(2) polyfunctional substituted aziridine, e.g., with alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, the coating weight of the antistatic layer, based on weight of (1), being less than 4.5 mg/dm.sup.2, preferably less than 3.8 mg/dm.Elements using such layers are free of haze and show reduced propensity to produce static. The layers are useful in silver halide, photopolymer, diazo, and vesicular image-forming elements, etc.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 1989
Date of Patent: April 10, 1990

  • Patent number: 4701403
Abstract: An improved antistatic coating for a polyester support bearing a photographic layer is applied in two coatings using conventional coating equipment. The first coating contains an electrically conductive polymer and optionally a binding agent; the second coating contains a crosslinking agent.

  • Patent number: 4394442
Abstract: To improve adhesion of a hydrophilic photographic emulsion to a hydrophobic polyester film base the latter is energy-treated as by electrical discharge or flame treatment, and then given a sub-coating composed of an aqueous dispersion of a copolyester modified with a sulfonated aromatic compound.
