  • Publication number: 20220090588
Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of a drive head for use with positive displacement pumps. In one embodiment, a drive head for use with a pump comprises a central shaft having a first end and a second end; first and second drive rod connection points coupled to the central shaft proximate the first and second ends, the first and second drive rod connection points being located radially outside of a centerline of the central shaft; first and second drive rods coupled to the first and second drive rod connection points; and a central support member coupled to the central shaft between the first and second drive rod connection points.

  • Publication number: 20040265145
Abstract: A hydraulic drive system for providing a smoothed or near sinusoidal output flow characteristic for reciprocating piston pumps is disclosed. A solution to hydraulic hammer caused by rapid flow reversal in the hydraulic control valves used within the system is presented that is based about a sloped hydraulic spool piece used in hydraulic control valves.

  • Patent number: 6769884
Abstract: A hydraulic drive system is provided to produce a smoothed or near sinusoidal output flow characteristic for reciprocating piston pumps. The device occupies a smaller footprint than conventional mechanical reciprocating pumps and allows a standard reciprocating pump to operate at its maximum rated pressure while retaining its maximum rated flow. Several embodiments are disclosed and the drive system may be coupled to standard duplex and triplex pumps. A solution to hydraulic hammer caused by rapid flow reversal in the hydraulic control valves used within the system is presented.
