  • Patent number: 8437843
Abstract: The present invention provides for a data acquisition system for EEG and other physiological conditions, preferably wireless, and method of using such system. The wireless EEG system can be used in a number of applications including both studies and clinical work. These include both clinical and research sleep studies, alertness studies, emergency brain monitoring, and any other tests or studies where a subject's or patient's EEG reading is required or helpful. This system includes a number of features, which enhance this system over other systems presently in the marketplace. These features include but are not limited to the having multiple channels for looking at a number of physiological features of the subject or patient, a built in accelerometer for looking at a subject's or patient's body motion, a removable memory for data buffering and storage, capability of operating below 2.

  • Publication number: 20110170739
Abstract: Described is a technology by which medical patient facial images are acquired and maintained for associating with a patient's records and/or other items. A video camera may provide video frames, such as captured when a patient is being admitted to a hospital. Face detection may be employed to clip the facial part from the frame. Multiple images of a patient's face may be displayed on a user interface to allow selection of a representative image. Also described is obtaining the patient images by processing electronic documents (e.g., patient records) to look for a face pictured therein.

  • Publication number: 20100274573
Abstract: An adaptable data management system that can address situations and/or scenarios ‘on-the-fly’ is provided. The innovation discloses a system that is not bound by intended content and therefore, allows associations (e.g., patterns, trends) and functionalities (e.g., notifications) to be expressed very rapidly (e.g., in real-time) to address health-related scenarios (e.g., bioterrorism). Accordingly, the system can autonomously decide what information to aggregate, how to receive the information, where to access the information, how to analyze the information, and what to do with the information.

  • Patent number: 7546470
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively activating a component on a computing device includes an authorization server that authorizes activation of a component on a computing device in response to an activation request, a component management module that activates the component in response to receiving authorization from the authorization server, and a tracking system that receives transaction data corresponding to the component in response to activating the component. The apparatus may also include a billing system that charges a customer account in response to activation of the component. In certain embodiments, the component management module includes a detection module that requests component activation in response to detecting an increased computing load on the computing device. The detection module may also request component deactivation in response to detecting a decreased computing load on the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20080163988
Abstract: A pull across screen assembly has a flexible screen member (e.g. flymesh) wound about a vertical rod positioned at one side of the opening. A line member arrangement is attached to the front of the screen member and part of the line member winds about a tapered drum which is positioned on top of rod and which rotates with rotation of the rod. The arrangement allows the screen member to be tensioned and also to be balanced as it is pulled across the opening.

  • Patent number: 7302570
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for authorized remote access to a target system. The apparatus, system, and method include a security module and an authorization module that cooperate to authenticate a remote user using three passwords. The apparatus, system, and method selectively generate an encrypted key in response to a first password. The authorization module decrypts the encrypted key and determines a third password in response to authenticating a second password and identifying a remote user within an authorized user list. The third password is then used to gain secure, traceable, and in certain embodiments, restricted remote access to a target system.
