  • Publication number: 20240033857
Abstract: A method for creating a cracking line in a connecting rod includes etching, using a first pass of a laser, a groove in an inner surface of a larger bore of a connecting rod by removing material from the inner surface. The groove may be discontinuous and include a plurality of holes that are spaced apart and have different depths. The method further includes removing more material from the groove using a second pass of the laser to increase the depths of the holes, thereby increasing the stress concentration factor of the groove.

  • Patent number: 11833517
Abstract: A spa tub includes a spa shell configured to contain a volume of water; a circulation system configured to create a flow of the water to and from the spa shell; and a testing system configured to acquire water samples from the volume of water and to perform water quality tests on the water samples. The testing system includes a housing; a circulation pump disposed within the housing configured to acquire the water samples from the volume of water; a replaceable reagent cartridge removably received within the housing; and a water test assembly disposed within the housing. The water test assembly is configured to receive the water samples acquired by the circulation pump and a reagent from the reagent cartridge. • Patent number: 11828573
Abstract: A small arms form factor munition may package a control section with a deployment section in a munition case. The control section can have a first drag mechanism and a second drag mechanism. Firing the munition case from a firearm propels the load from the munition case and barrel of the firearm towards a target. A drag mechanism is selected and activated by the control section in response to a detected distance to the target while the load is in flight. The drag mechanism alters a flight characteristic of the load.

  • Publication number: 20230312371
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing a liquid is disclosed. The apparatus can include a cap configured to connect to a container body having a chamber for containing the liquid. The cap can include a fill aperture through which the liquid is supplied to the container body and a pour aperture through which the liquid exits the apparatus. A fill lid can be rotatable about a pivot axis in a first direction to close the fill aperture and rotatable about the pivot axis in a second direction to open the fill aperture, the first direction opposite the second direction. A pour lid can be rotatable about the pivot axis in the first direction to open the pour aperture and rotatable about the pivot axis in the second direction to close the pour aperture. A filter assembly comprising a filter cartridge can connect to the cap.

  • Publication number: 20230310252
Abstract: As an example, a walker includes a first leg pair, a second leg pair and a cross beam connecting the first and second leg pairs in a parallel, spaced apart relationship. Each leg pair includes a U-shaped tube defining a front leg and a rear leg. A front strut is telescopically movable within the front leg and extends outwardly therefrom. A rear strut is telescopically movable within the rear leg and extends outwardly therefrom. A mechanical linear actuator includes a rotating element adapted to rotate relative to at least one of the front leg or the rear leg. The rotating element includes an interface with a track on the respective strut relative to which the rotating element rotates, whereby rotational motion of the rotating element translates to corresponding linear motion of the strut.
