  • Publication number: 20090253360
Abstract: A ventilation unit that can be sealed to an opening in a large temporary overspray enclosure employed during the painting of large yachts and marine vessels for containment of paint overspray, thereby substantially eliminating overspray in surrounding areas, a long sought-after objective in the industry. The unit is compact and self-contained, having a pre-filter area, primary filter material, an intake area, fans, a variable controller for each fan, an exhaust area, final discharge filters, and doors configured to seal the back end of ventilation unit during periods of non-use and which are removable during use or otherwise positionable to provide unobstructed airflow into the pre-filter area. The unit is also configured to be easily portable and reusable. A hose connection plate can also be used to connect one or more hoses to the pre-filter area to provide enhanced ventilation to high paint areas within the temporary overspray enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7419329
Abstract: A portable marine lift capable of multi-directional off-loading of yachts, ships, and other marine vessels at ground level to dry-dock them. It is compact and barge-like, and can be shared by independent shipyards, or used to expand the work area within a single port facility or shipyard. It is also self-contained when fitted with generators and/or propulsion means via add-on pods, and comprises independent platform sections joined together to meet any hull design, length and water depth. Platform sections have the ability to submerge, and may also be employed to capture and temporarily contain environmentally hazardous materials commonly produced by shipyards. In addition, the platform sections are preferably open-framed for weight savings. Computerized lifting, via multiple lift modules secured to platform sections, assures lifting of vessels in substantially level orientation.

  • Patent number: 6935980
Abstract: A compact transmission that is infinitely variable and load sensitive. It incorporates a standard hydrodynamic torque converter, however, this converter does not use a lock-up device. Instead engaged gears progressively change ratio output without shifting, thus eliminating the momentary power loss between shifts. It requires no special tooling and can be made from readily available over-the-counter parts. Thus, it is less expensive to manufacture than the transmissions and gearboxes currently used in modern vehicular and marine applications.
