  • Patent number: 6309270
Abstract: Swim gear including a headpiece which covers the forward portion of the wearer's head and supports a pair of spaced lenses therein. A tailpiece which extends rearwardly from the forward portion of the wearer's head and terminates atop the wearer's head. An elastic band member is secured to the tailpiece and extends downwardly across the back of the wearer's head for secured relation with a connector member which is slidably carried on a head-encircling band. The head-encircling band extends around the wearer's head and has its ends secured to the headpiece adjacent each lens. The upper portion of the headpiece includes a surface for support of an appendage thereon. As a novelty feature, the appendage may be configured in the shape of the dorsal fin of a shark. Other configurations may be provided on the appendage, if desired.

  • Patent number: 5462285
Abstract: A game includes a manual actuator, an animated character that is animated by actuation of the manual actuator, and a random integer generator such as a spinner. The animated character includes an ejector, an object such as a ball positioned in the ejector, a mechanical counter that is incremented by actuation of the manual actuator, and a release mechanism responsive to the mechanical counter to activate the ejector and thereby cause the ejector to eject the object when the counter is incremented to a sufficient number. A player of the game generates a random integer by spinning the spinner and actuates the manual actuator a number of times corresponding to the random integer.

  • Patent number: 5228687
Abstract: A football having a body formed of a foam material an oblate spheroid contour being substantially symmetrical about a major axis and a minor axis. An outwardly opening groove is formed in the outer surface of the body and extends circumferentially about the minor axis. A soft, resilient plastic ring is seated in the groove. The ring has a weight in the range of approximately one-third to approximately the weight of the foam body. Shallow dimples are formed on the outer surface of the body with the dimples arranged in a plurality of rows extending along the major axis of the body. Each row has a number of dimples located on a compound curve which passes through a meridian at the minor axis of the body, has loops on opposite sides of the meridian and terminates at the meridian at opposite ends of the body. The diameters of the dimples decrease from the largest diameters located adjacent the minor axis of the body to the smallest diameters adjacent the ends of the body along the major axis.
