  • Patent number: 6588426
Abstract: Unwanted separation of an inner cannula from an outer cannula in tracheostomy devices can be achieved by installing a retaining ring which prevents the inner cannula from unwantingly being unlatched from the outer cannula. The retaining ring allows the air supply elbow to be separated which, in turn, permits the sensory alarms to properly sound when a disconnection of the air supply arises.
