  • Patent number: 4969581
Abstract: An unequivocal bottom delivery package with a self sealing valve for storing and dispensing a fluid material. The package has a shipping configuration in which a shipping cap is located over the self sealing valve to provide leakage resistance during shipment. Upon receipt it is obvious that operation of the package first necessitates removal of the shipping cap. Removal of the shipping cap transforms the package into a dispensing configuration. The dispensing configuration provides easy one step dispensing and makes it obvious that the container is intended to be stored with the self sealing valve between uses. A travel cap is provided for placement over the self sealing valve, transforming the package into a traveling configuration, which provides leakage resistance during subsequent transportation. It is obvious the package is not intended to be placed into the travelling configuration between every use.

  • Patent number: 4958889
Abstract: A portable computer includes a plate mounted to the chassis for pivotal movement between a position covering the connector terminals in the chassis rear wall to a position angularly spaced therefrom wherein the plate extends below the lower surface of the chassis thereby supporting the rear of the chassis in raised relation with respect to the front thereof. Cam surfaces consisting of angularly spaced flats are engageable with cooperating spring-biased followers for retaining the plate in its various angularly spaced positions.

  • Patent number: 4930911
Abstract: A peripheral or stand-alone computerized stamp printer is provided particularly for office use in which a print assembly including a pressure cam and leaf spring arrangement is associated with a heated print head which contacts and impresses a daisy wheel character against an imprinting tape in a confined cartridge to serially print computer-selected letters or characters on a binder, binder spine, or other workpiece. The printer assembly may move on an X or Y axis along a fixed or movable gantry upper arm. If the gantry is fixed, means are provided for moving paper stock, binders or other workpieces into proper position for clamping on a work surface on the top surfaces of the printer chassis. A spine-holding drawer may be provided in the chassis for supporting the spine of a binder for printing letters, logos, or the like, on the binder spine. The print assembly is a discrete unit and includes a replaceable tape cartridge fitted into drive mechanisms within the printer assembly.

  • Patent number: 4919387
Abstract: Support apparatus for easily and independently adjusting tilt and swivel of a supported product, specifically a visual display device such as a computer monitor. The swivel mechanism permits the display device to be swivelled through a rotational angle greater than 360.degree., or greater than 180.degree. in each direction from a front reference position. The tilt mechanism utilizes a stack of elongate torsion springs or bars with the stack's mid-portion fixed against longitudinal rotation and with its ends rotatable, including means for providing resistance to such rotation, for counter-balancing the torque produced by the display device in its various tilt positions.

  • Patent number: 4898555
Abstract: A self adjusting bezel assembly for a display screen, and specifically for an infrared radiation touch input display system, including a method for assemblying the bezel apparatus to the display screen. An outer bezel is mounted in fixed relation to the display device, and an inner bezel containing a radiation emitter and detector matrix is retained by and floats with respect to the outer bezel for being urged against the display screen in precise relation thereto.

  • Patent number: 4730972
Abstract: A two-part binding system includes one or more bifurcated posts integrally extending from a clamping strip or member. The posts are inserted into one or more apertures in a stack of punched paper or other material and a second clamping strip having one or more integral or separate latching buttons inserted over and around the posts. Each button includes one or a pair of toothed pawls integrally hinged to a cross bar extending across a button aperture. The posts contain a series of transverse ratchets facing each other. As the second strip and its integral or snap-in latching button is manually pressed over the posts toward the first clamping strip, the teeth of the pawl teeth ratchet successively into the posts toward the base of the posts until the stack of paper is firmly grasped and the teeth mesh with a final transverse ratchet. At this position, the strips are bowed putting the edges of the stacked sheets in compression.
