    Abstract: A computing device includes: a housing configured to receive a supply of print media; a print head supported by the housing; a wireless communications subsystem supported by the housing; a controller supported by the housing, the controller configured to: control the communications subsystem to detect a data collection device; obtain, from the data collection device via the communications subsystem, monitoring data collected by the data collection device indicative of an environmental condition; transmit the monitoring data; receive a command based on the monitoring data; and control the print head to apply indicia to the print media according to the command.

    Abstract: The present teachings generally relate to a frame assembly comprising a connector device and a method for fabricating the same. The frame assembly comprises a member (12) and one or more connector devices (14A, 14B) coupled to and supporting opposing ends the member. Each of the one or more connector devices comprise a base member; a first projection extending from a first side of the base member, the projection defining a cavity; an end channel situated within the cavity and extending around a perimeter of the projection proximate the base member; a port extending from the end channel on the first side of the base member to a second side of the base member, the second side being in opposing relationship to the first side; and an adhesive, introduced via the port, situated within the end channel. Opposing ends of the member are situated within each of the cavities of two connector devices, respectively, and in contacting relationship with the adhesive.

    Abstract: A method for making an activatable insert, comprising the steps of locating a carrier having at least one hollow columnar projection in an overmolding tool the at least one hollow columnar projection having an intermediate portion and a free end portion, wherein the intermediate portion and the free end portion each have generally the same perimeter dimension; deforming the at least one hollow columnar projection while it is within the overmolding tool to form a permanently deformed projection such that the free end portion of the permanently deformed projection has a perimeter dimension that exceeds the perimeter dimension of the intermediate portion; and overmolding an activatable material onto the carrier so that the activatable material substantially surrounds the deformed projection, and the deformed projection helps to retain the activatable material on the carrier.
