  • Patent number: 10202823
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to providing a hub coupled into a production tree, manifold, or other equipment, and a base module that is attachable to and retrievable from the hub. The base module may be reconfigurable. The base module may be configured to receive other modules that are reconfigurable, wherein the other modules are retrievable from the base module. The hub provides a dedicated space or support at or near the production tree or equipment for using the base module. An interface is provided between the base module and the production tree. A fluid conduit provides a fluid path across or through the interface. The hub may be part of the interface such that the module can fluidly couple to the fluid conduit and the production tree across the interface via the hub.

  • Patent number: 9263973
Abstract: A MEMS electrostatic actuator includes a bottom plate affixed to a substrate and a top plate suspended above the bottom plate. The top plate has a parallel plate center section and two rotating members electrically connected to the center section. Each rotating member is attached centrally of the rotating member for rotation about an axis of rotation to a set of anchor posts. The attachment includes at least one pair of torsional springs attached along each axis, each spring comprising a rectangular metal square that twists as the rotational members rotate. Electrostatic pull-down electrodes are underneath each rotational member.

  • Patent number: 7355777
Abstract: System and method for storing energy using electromechanically active materials in micro electromechanical systems. A preferred embodiment comprises a movable element, an intermediate layer formed under the movable element, and electrical addressing circuitry formed under the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer contains a hinge and at least one flexible member associated with the movable element, with the flexible member comprising a layer made from an electromechanically active material. The electromechanically active material contracts or deforms when an electric field is applied, helping the movable element move from a first position to a second position. The use of the electromechanically active material enables the flexible member to apply a greater force on the movable element to help the movable element overcome stiction.

  • Patent number: 4944818
Abstract: A panel for use as a substrate for a torch-down modified bitumen roof membrane is disclosed. The panel comprises a board of combustible material with a pre-applied noncombustible facer sheet. The facer sheet protects the board from burning during installation of the membrane. In a preferred embodiment, the boards comprise cellulosic fibers and the facer sheet comprises a fabric of bituminous coated glass fibers. The panels are provided with a facer sheet overhang along two adjacent edges for overlapping the facer sheets of abutting panels. The panels are disclosed having an asphalt coating on the top of the board and with a rubber-asphalt emulsion adhesive adhering the facer sheets to the board. Also disclosed is a roofing construction and a method of applying the roofing construction incorporating the substrate panels.
