  • Patent number: 11802452
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for separating oily drill fluid from an oily drill cuttings slurry comprising oily drill fluid and drill cuttings. The method comprises destructively modifying at least a portion of the drill cuttings that are contacted by at least one cuttings-reactive chemical thereby disrupting attraction forces between the portion of the drill cuttings and the oily drill fluid and making it easier for mechanical cuttings treatment equipment to separate oily drill fluid from the oily drill cuttings slurry.

  • Patent number: 11752447
Abstract: The present disclosure is a method of removing contaminants from a feed stream comprising said contaminants and process liquid by bringing the feed stream into contact with a heated heating fluid in or in proximity to a separation vessel thereby causing process liquid to vaporise and flow out of the separation vessel as vapour, after which it can be recovered. Embodiments of the method may include using a heavy heating fluid whose density is higher than that of the feed stream and/or vigorously agitating the pool of heating fluid in the separation vessel.

  • Patent number: 6685802
Abstract: This invention relates to a continuous process and an apparatus (1) for removing dissolved and undissolved solids and/or high boiling point liquid contaminants from a mixture of miscible liquids (9). A recycle liquor stream (6) is fed at high velocity through a heat exchanger having a single flow path (12) and the heat added by the heat exchanger is sufficient to vaporize the feed stream (2) when the recycle liquor and feed stream are mixed upon delivery to the separation vessel (3).

  • Patent number: 4538086
Abstract: Electromagnetic machines of the type having circular arrays of permanent magnets arranged on a rotor and a plurality of pole pieces arranged on a stator, requires that a maximum number of pole pieces be arranged around the stator in order to attain maximum utilization of the magnetic flux and to minimize interpole flux leakage. The instant stator of an electromagnetic machine includes a plurality of U-shaped pole pieces, with adjacent ones of the pole pieces opening in opposite radial directions from an axis of the stator. The pole pieces which open radially inwardly are stepped so as to have a relatively thicker portion radially outwardly from the axis and a relatively thinner portion radially inwardly from the axis. Thus, the number of pole pieces that can be arranged around the stator is maximized, as is the utilization of magnetic flux, and interpole flux leakage is minimized.
