  • Patent number: 11964436
Abstract: In an example, a method includes operating, by a processor, on object model data and operating, on a processor, on pattern data. The object model data describes at least part of an object to be generated in additive manufacturing and the pattern data describes an object pattern intended to be formed on at least a portion of the part of the object to be generated in additive manufacturing. The method includes determining, by a processor, control data to control a print agent applicator to apply a pattern of fusing agent onto a part of a layer of build material. The pattern of fusing agent comprises a fusing agent area and a gap area that lacks fusing agent. The gap area corresponds to the object pattern such that no fusing agent is applied to a part of the layer of build material that corresponds to the object pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230064797
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to display 3D part models with nonlinearly scaled bounding boxes and/or font sizes. The system may calculate display dimensions of a nonlinearly scaled bounding box as a nonlinear function of the print dimensions of a 3D part model. The system may additionally or alternatively select font sizes that are inversely proportional to the print dimensions of the 3D part model. The system may render a two-dimensional view of the 3D part model within the nonlinearly scaled bounding box for display on an electronic display. The system may also render the print dimensions of the 3D part model in the selected font size for display on the electronic display proximate the nonlinearly scaled bounding box.

  • Publication number: 20230067534
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for detecting connections between components, such as 3D-printed components, using RFID tags, readers, and/or writers. For example, an RFID reader may read an identification code from an RFID tag that is at least partially 3D-printed as part of a first 3D-printed component to verify the connection to a second 3D-printed component. In various examples, the RFID reader may detect different identification codes depending on whether the first 3D-printed component is correctly connected to the second 3D-printed component, incorrectly connected to the second 3D-printed component, and/or connected to the second 3D-printed component in the past.

  • Publication number: 20220193993
Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an additive manufacturing system is described. The additive manufacturing system includes a build material distributor to deposit layers of powdered build material onto a bed and an agent distributor to form a slice of a three-dimensional (3D) printed object by selectively depositing at least one agent onto a layer of powdered build material. The additive manufacturing system also includes a controller. The controller 1) controls the build material distributor and the agent distributor to form the 3D printed object and 2) controls the agent distributor to form an object label, the object label to be within a body of the 3D printed object with fused material disposed over the object label. The object label does not receive an agent disposed thereon.

  • Patent number: 11340709
Abstract: In an example method, a target object is detected via a camera in a mobile device based on an embedded identifier on the target object. Sensor data of the mobile device is tracked to estimate a relative location or a relative orientation of the mobile device in relation to the target object. A relative gesture is detected via the mobile device based on the relative location or the relative orientation of the mobile device. One or more actions are performed in response to detecting the relative gesture.

  • Publication number: 20220043942
Abstract: A system may filter at least some notifications associated with each of a plurality of unique parts in a cohort of parts for three-dimensional printing based on a cohort-dependent recommendation value. The system calculates a cohort-dependent recommendation value for each notification based on an inverse function of the number of unique parts in the cohort with which each respective notification is associated. The system renders a printable part for display as part of a graphical user interface along with notifications applicable to the displayed printable part. The system filters the notifications by selecting and/or ordering the notifications based on their respective cohort-dependent recommendation values.

  • Patent number: 11198248
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to determining 3D print part placement. In one implementation, a processor generates a user interface to receive user input related to multiple divisions of 3D print parts and a relative ordering between the divisions. The processor may determine part placement information for the parts in the divisions in a 3D print build area based on user input to the user interface. The processor may translate the determined part placement information into 3D printer instructions.
