An action is associated with a rule for modification of objects in a specific manner. When that action is performed, every object defined by the rule is modified. The method allows for modification of multiple groups in the same manner, and also allows for modification of individual areas.

A first and a second slideable selector are positioned relative to at least one object in a plurality of objects. A range is defined relative to the objects located within and including the objects relative to said first and second slideable selectors. A rule may then be applied to the range of objects defined by said first and second slideable selectors.

The present invention can be described as a novel system and method for displaying data fields in close proximity to accompanying label and summary information to facilitate ease of understanding and time efficiency. Label and summary information are fixed within a display window with accompanying data. The data can be scrolled or otherwise moved within the window for display while the label and summary information remain fixed to identify the associated data.
