    Abstract: The present invention provides an improved open mesh bag comprising an open, mesh-like fabric. The bag has a closed end formed by a fold in the fabric, an opposing end and longitudinal, heat-sealed side seams extending from the closed end to the opposing end. The bags are used for packaging articles for which visibility and/or breathability of the bag fabric are useful characteristics. In a preferred embodiment, the bags are also suited for manufacture and filling using high speed, automated equipment.

The bag has a sealed end, an open end capable of being sealed after filling of the bag and a longitudinal, heat-sealed seam extending from end to end. An optional print band or label can be heat sealed to the bag to reinforce the longitudinal heat-sealed seam.
