Abstract: A method of using tissue cartridges containing one or more tissues samples in configuration allowing screening of drug candidates against normal or known disease states. The inventive method generates binding information for multiple drug-human tissue sections. This binding information helps identify drug candidates having specific binding characteristics allowing for selection of potential drug candidates having specific binding characteristics allowing for selection of potential drug candidates that have the desired binding qualities. The ability to understand binding characteristics allows drug discovery methods that reduce potential side effects.

Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies that are specific for a physiological disorder of interest are used to conduct an immunometric assay for antigens correlated with that specific disorder. The invention provides a method which comprises a process having one probe and one target detection. Multiple probes are applied tissue samples without destroying the integrity of the tissue sample. The inventive method utilizes a specific reagent system that is a Probe-Tagging system. This system utilizes a cleavable linker and a specific tagging molecule that upon dissociation may be analyzed using micro-array-based detection systems or other detection methods known within the art.

Abstract: A novel method for preparing a subject for surgery by administering to said subject a composition which contains at least one steroid, an alcohol and a vehicle which is distinct from said alcohol. It has been discovered that there is a synergistic effect between the steroid and the alcohol which increases the anesthetic effect and the analgesic effect and shortens recovery times.
