  • Patent number: 4819564
Abstract: A conveying installation with a linear motor drive including a stator placed along a travel path and at least one conveyor unit guided along the stator in a constrained manner. The stator is divided into a plurality of stator portions. To each stator portion is assigned a braking device whose operation is dependent upon the current supply to a stator. The conveyor units are guided spaced apart by a predetermined distance. If the current supply fails, the braking devices are actuated and stop the movements of the conveyor units.

  • Patent number: 4794866
Abstract: An electrical linear motor stator is fixedly disposed along a roadway. A car supported on at least two trucks is guided for movement along the roadway. The trucks are pivotally mounted to the car for rotation about a vertical axis. Permanent magnets for interacting with the stator have one end pivotally mounted to the vertical axis of the truck and an opposite end guided, for example, using rollers, for positive movement parallel to a vertical longitudinal central plane of the stator. In this way, the permanent magnet is mounted for transverse movement to the car to permit the car to negotiate small radius curves in the roadway while still maintaining good alignment between the permanent magnet and the stator.

  • Patent number: 4078369
Abstract: In the processing of a band of fiber material at a plurality of processing locations in a textile machine which operates while periodically being unattended and receives the fiber material band to be processed from supply containers, a sufficient supply of fiber material to the machine is assured by automatically monitoring the quantity of fiber material in each container, and producing an output signal when the monitoring indicates that the quantity of fiber material in a container has reached a lower limit value.

  • Patent number: 3991989
Abstract: A direction reversal device including a housing and an abutment rod passing through, and movable relative to, the housing, one of the housing and the rod being stationary and the other being arranged to be impacted by a moving unit whose direction of travel is to be reversed, the device also including a resilient connection disposed between the rod and the housing and arranged to have a potential energy storage capacity corresponding to the kinetic energy possessed by the moving unit, and control elements for adjusting the storage capacity and the location of the point of direction reversal of the device.

  • Patent number: 3961006
Abstract: A flat composed of a flat body with a flexible covering fastened thereto and having a plurality of outwardly extending card wires distributed across the covering, for use in carding machines, is produced by disposing such a flexible covering against the outer surface of a cylinder with the outwardly extending wires directed toward the cylinder surface, the outer surface of the cylinder being shaped to define the desired contour of the array of card wire tips; pressing the flexible covering against the outer surface of the cylinder for causing the array of card wire tips to conform to the shape of the outer surface of the cylinder; disposing an associated flat body at a distance from that surface of the covering which is directed away from the cylinder; and filling the region between the flexible covering and the rigid body with a hardenable plastic mass and permitting the mass to harden and to become firmly attached to the flat body and to the covering.
