Abstract: Apparatuses are provided for manufacturing a rod member for a cigarette filter element. Each rod member defines a longitudinal axis and includes a generally longitudinally-extending filter material and a plurality of objects disposed therein along the longitudinal axis. Such an apparatus comprises a rod-forming unit configured to form a continuous supply of a filter material into a continuous cylindrical rod member. An object insertion unit is configured to introduce a plurality of objects into engagement with the rod member. A rod-dividing unit is configured to divide the rod member into a plurality of rod portions such that each rod portion includes a plurality of the objects. Associated methods are also provided.

Abstract: In response to a user selection of a media item, such as a video clip, from a website for online sharing of media, the website selects an advertisement to pair with the requested media item. The selection of the advertisement may be based on information known about the requested media item, thereby resulting in a more targeted advertisement based on the own identification of content that interests the user. The website may pair the advertisement as an overlay with the media item. The paired item and advertisement are delivered to the user, who can view them on a local device.

Abstract: A temperature and moisture management garment to be worn against an individual's skin includes a shirt, a temperature modification device, and a pocket for retaining the temperature modification device on the inside or the outside of the shirt. The temperature modification device provides a source of heat or cold without connection to an outside device for helping a wearer maintain his body temperature by applying heat or cold to an area of the wearer's body. The shirt and/or the pocket permits transmission of heat and cold from the temperature modification means to the wearer. Preferably, the shirt is made of a compression fabric to provide a snug fit and hold the temperature modification device close to the wearer's skin.
