  • Patent number: 6572413
Abstract: A jack module system is disclosed. The system includes a housing (12) defining an interior. The system also includes first and second jacks (14, 14′). Each jack (14, 14′) includes a jack body (100) including upper and lower edges. Receiving means are disposed within the housing (12) for slidably receiving the jack bodies (100) in a first direction and slidably removing the jack bodies (100) in a direction opposite the first direction. The jacks (14, 14′) are stacked along an axis perpendicular to the first transverse dimension. The system also includes a cover (102) removably securing the jack bodies (100).

    Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.
Inventors: Cynthia G. Olson, Dennis M. Burroughs
  • Publication number: 20020081907
Abstract: A switching coax jack module and jack component provide for a removable DSX jack which can be slid into and out of the front of a jack module housing without disconnecting other internal jacks and without disconnecting the module from a chassis.

  • Patent number: 6328608
Abstract: A switching coax jack module (10) contains two removable jacks (14, 14′). The jack module (10) includes a sheet metal housing (12) with a front wall (22) and a rear wall (24). An interior wall structure (20) within the housing (12) defines two recesses (34, 34′) within the housing (12) recessed from and open through the front wall (22). The interior wall structure (20) carries four sliding coax connectors (60a, 61a, 60a′, 61a′) with two of the four exposed within each of the recesses (34, 34′). Coax cables (60b, 61b, 60b′, 61b′) contained within the housing connect each of the four sliding coax connectors with individual ones of coax connectors (60, 61, 60′, 61′) mounted on the rear wall (24) and exposed to an exterior of the housing (12). Two switching jacks (14, 14′) containing switching components (125) are slidably received within the recesses (34, 34′).

  • Patent number: 5913701
Abstract: A switching coax jack module (10) contains two removable jacks (14, 14'). The jack module (10) includes a sheet metal housing (12) with a front wall (22) and a rear wall (24). An interior wall structure (20) within the housing (12) defines two recesses (34, 34') within the housing (12) recessed from and open through the front wall (22). The interior wall structure (20) carries four sliding coax connectors (60a, 61a, 60a', 61a') with two of the four exposed within each of the recesses (34, 34'). Coax cables (60b, 61b, 60b', 61b') contained within the housing (12) connect each of the four sliding coax connectors (60a, 61a, 60a', 61a') with individual ones of coax connectors (60, 61, 60', 61') mounted on the rear wall (24) and exposed to an exterior of the housing (12). Two switching jacks (14, 14') containing switching components (125) are slidably received within the recesses (34, 34'). Sliding connectors (112, 113) mate with the housing sliding connectors (60a, 61a, 60a', 61a').
