Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically and transparently renewing licenses associated with downloaded content. Licensing associated with content can allow the provider to retain control over the content after it has been downloaded on to the user's computer. A license file or similar licensing parameter is the key to retaining control over access to the content after it has been downloaded. The license file may also control copying of the content on to computers other than the original computer used. The dynamic renewal method will transparently renew the license files on a user's computer to allow the associated content to be used without disruption as long as the user's account is in good standing.

Abstract: An antigen-specific T-cell response to alloantigen, tissue-specific antigen (e.g., islet antigen or other autoantigens involved in autoimmune disease), or self (or host) antigen is detected at an early stage of graft rejection or recurrent autoimmunity. An increase in cytotoxic lymphocyte gene (CLG) expression in peripheral blood is a risk factor for development of deleterious immune responses, which may be confirmed by functional assays. For example, the distinction between production of regulatory or inflammatory cytokines by T cells may dissect the type of immune response which is being induced: the survival of transplanted islet cells used to treat type 1 diabetes may be monitored, loss of the transplant by graft rejection (i.e., an alloantigen target) may be distinguished from autoimmune disease (i.e., a self or host antigen target).

Abstract: A composition containing polydisperse aminodextran polymer molecules is soluble in an aqueous solution at a concentration of 10 mg/ml. The molecules therein have a narrow size distribution characterized by an average molecule mean hydrodynamic diameter of greater than 115 nm, a polydispersity index of between 0.10 and 0.47, an average molecular weight (MW) greater than 3 million daltons, and an amine content of greater than 50 amines per molecule. Similar soluble compositions contain the polymer molecules with an average MW of greater than 7 million daltons. These compositions are useful in forming reagents by conjugation with proteins for labeling cells. Methods of making these compositions and reagents from conventional mixtures of aminodextran polymers involve fractionation on column chromatography.
