    Abstract: The invention relates to methods of isolating differentiable fetal-derived cells from various tissues of the placenta. Specifically, some of the methods of the present invention relate to isolating differentiable amnion-derived cells, while other methods of the present invention relate to isolating differentiable chorion-derived cells. The present invention also relates to methods of inducing these isolated differentiable amnion-derived and differentiable chorion-derived cells to at least partially differentiate. The present invention also relates to methods of treating insulin deficiencies in a subject by administering these differentiable amnion-derived cells and/or differentiable chorion-derived cells to subjects in need thereof.
