  • Patent number: 10908252
Abstract: A method and device for identifying radar emission modes are provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 2017
Date of Patent: February 2, 2021
    Assignee: THALES
Inventors: Jean-François Grandin, Cyrille Enderli, Jean-Marie Lemoine
  • Patent number: 10585172
Abstract: The distinguishing of rain echoes from ground echoes is performed by an analysis of the attenuation of the radar echoes, a radar echo being classed as a rain echo if its attenuation on a logarithm scale as a function of distance fluctuates around an affine straight line according to a given statistical law.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 4, 2015
Date of Patent: March 10, 2020
    Assignee: THALES
Inventors: Cyrille Enderli, Mathias Lombard, Marie-Françoise Schaub

  • Patent number: 10156630
Abstract: A method for passively locating a non-movable transmitter on the ground implemented by a group of at least one receiving station, each of the receiving stations comprising a detector of radars and a time reference, the set of time references being mutually synchronized, the transmitter transmitting a set of periodic pulses, wherein a first estimation of the position of the transmitter is carried out by the Bancroft scheme on the basis of the mean arrival times of the pulses transmitted by the transmitter at the level of each station of the group of at least one receiving station, the result obtained being used thereafter as point for initializing a maximum likelihood scheme so as to converge toward the position of the transmitter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 10, 2015
Date of Patent: December 18, 2018
    Assignee: THALES
Inventors: Cyrille Enderli, Jean-François Grandin, Hugo Seute
  • Patent number: 10012727
Abstract: A method for detecting targets, implemented by a multifunction radar wherein the radar comprises an antenna subdivided into at least two portions and is configured to transmit at least two types of signals on distinct frequency bands and to perform at least one ground detection or imaging function. During the transmission phases of an antenna portion, the reception of each antenna portion of the radar is cut. The method comprises, for each range gate, a step of reception of signals, a step of estimation of the autocorrelation matrix associated with the interferences the ground returns and from the thermal noise of the radar and a step of target detection using a test of the generalized maximum likelihood. A multifunction radar configured to implement the method for detecting targets is provided.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 3, 2018
