  • Publication number: 20240139809
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preparing high-purity spherical magnesium and/or high-purity magnesium powder are provided. The apparatus includes a vertical furnace body, a heating zone, and a condensing zone, where a periphery of the condensing zone is provided with a first thermal insulation device and a second thermal insulation device sequentially from bottom to top, and each of the first thermal insulation device and the second thermal insulation device is removably arranged; the periphery of the condensing zone is further provided with a liquid cooling device; a gas inlet and a gas outlet are formed in the condensing zone; and an inner wall of the condensing zone is provided with an arrangement structure configured to arrange a collection device. A heating temperature of a material and condensation conditions in the condensing zone are controlled to make an evaporated magnesium vapor condensed on the collection device in the condensing zone.

  • Patent number: 8343481
Abstract: A method of preparing a population of in vitro cultured cells of alveolar epithelial type II (ATII) cell lineage derived from at least one embryonic stem cell is disclosed which comprises (a) culturing said at least one embryonic stem cell in vitro in a medium comprising MATRIGEL®, to produce differentiated cells without formation of an embryonic body, wherein at least some of the differentiated cells are of ATII cell phenotype; (b) identifying the differentiated cells of ATII cell phenotype by detecting expression of at least one biomarker of ATII cells; (c) isolating the differentiated cells having ATII cell phenotype; and (d) cloning the isolated cells to produce a population of cells having ATII cell phenotype. The resulting cells are preferably >99% pure ATII phenotype lineage and are potentially useful therapeutically for treating lung injury and disease.

  • Publication number: 20110200567
Abstract: A method of treating injured or diseased alveolar epithelial tissue in the lung of a mammal comprising transplanting into the lung a population of differentiated transgenic stem cells, or progeny thereof, which have an alveolar type II phenotype, effective to repair at least a portion of the injured or diseased alveolar epithelial tissue; an expression vector for transgenically modifying stem cells, comprising a DNA sequence encoding human surfactant protein C promoter operably linked to a DNA sequence encoding at least one drug-resistance gene; transgenic stem cells comprising such expression vector; and a method of preparing such transgenic stem cells and progeny thereof, a high percentage of which have an alveolar type II phenotype.

  • Patent number: 5812631
Abstract: A method for manufacturing the monolithic capillary X-ray lens, comprising the steps of Drawing a hollow glass raw-tube into monocapillaries in a heating furnace by a drawing tower; Stacking monocapillaries into a symmetric mould to form a multibundle; Feeding the multibundle into the heating furnace to be heated at uniform speed or variable speed; Drawing the multibundle by a drawing tower at uniform speed and variable speed to form a first integrated lens billet; Cutting the monolithic lens billet into desired shape according to usage to form said first monolithic capillary X-ray lens. A monolithic capillary X-ray lens produced by using said method comprises a plurality of X-ray channels passing from one end through another end, and is a single glass solid formed by melting together the walls themselves of said X-ray channels.
