  • Patent number: 9187348
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electrode for capacitive deionization device including an active material, a waterborne polyurethane, and a conducting agent. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing the electrode and a capacitive deionization device employing the electrode. The waterborne polyurethane is a product of reaction of a polyurethane prepolymer prepared by reacting a polyol, a diisocyanate-based compound, and a dispersing agent, with a neutralizing agent and a chain extending agent.

  • Publication number: 20140187697
Abstract: Disclosed is an adhesive for bonding polyurethane and vulcanized rubber, and more specifically to an adhesive for bonding polyurethane and vulcanized rubber, which comprises: a first prepolymer, which is a reaction product of hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene polyol and isocyanate; a second prepolymer, which is a reaction product of polyether polyol, polyester polyol or a combination thereof, and isocyanate; and a radical initiator. The adhesive demonstrates excellent adhesive property even under harsh traveling conditions by using a chemical covalent-bond reaction of a body of a polyurethane tire and a vulcanized rubber tread material.

  • Patent number: 8586187
Abstract: The present invention provides an adhesive comprising graphene oxide including at an epoxy group, a hydroxyl group or a carboxylic acid group; and an alkoxysilane compound including an amine group, an epoxy group, a carboxylic acid group, a hydroxyl group, or a thiol group. More specifically the adhesive may be used for bonding a polyurethane elastomer to an aluminum material, in which a silane compound and graphene oxide are applied to improve adhesive strength, compared to adhesives including the silane compound only. In addition, during a separation process for recycling after use, the aluminum material and polyurethane can be easily separated from each other by polyurethane pyrolysis through rapid heating due to microwave absorption properties of graphene oxide.

  • Publication number: 20090004457
Abstract: Disclosed is a polymer foam composite comprising a plurality of hollow cells. Each cell is defined by a cell wall. A plurality of hollow particles are contained in the cell wall. The hollow particles have a diameter in the range of about 100 nm to about 4 ?m. The hollow portion of the hollow particle is filled with air, a fluorocarbon gas, a hydrocarbon gas, an inert gas or a mixture thereof. A process for manufacturing the polymer foam composite is also disclosed. A catalyst, a dispersant, a foaming agent, and hollow particles are added to a polyol to prepare a premixed polyol. Isocyanate is added to the premixed polyol to foam the premixed polyol and thereby form the polymer foam composite.
