  • Publication number: 20030016408
Abstract: A hologram recording film has an image of a three-dimensional object, e.g. a three-dimensional model, recorded in a volume hologram photosensitive material and further has a hologram image of a plane color pattern, e.g. a character or an image, together with the shadow of the color pattern, recorded as individual information in a superimposed manner in the same photosensitive material without using a liquid crystal display. Pieces of plane additional information of the same pattern have been recorded so as to be capable of being reconstructed simultaneously in a hologram plane and in front of or behind the hologram plane, respectively, in superimposition with a reconstructed image from a volume hologram.

  • Patent number: 6476942
Abstract: In order to prevent decrease in diffraction efficiency that is brought about when the diffraction peak wavelength shifts due to, for example, the shrinkage of a volume-hologram-recording photosensitive material layer 1, the present invention provides an original volume hologram film 10. The original volume hologram film 10 has a volume-hologram-recording photosensitive material layer 1 provided on a film 2, and an adhesive layer 8 provided on a film 9. The films 2 and 9 are affixed to each other with the layer 1 and 8 facing each other. The volume hologram has been recorded in the layer 1. The layer 8 can migrate an ingredient to the layer 1 to shift the diffraction peak wavelength to the opposite side.

  • Patent number: 6366371
Abstract: A transmission hologram allowing an illuminating light source for holographic reconstruction to be placed behind the hologram, i.e. on the side opposite to the viewing side, and permitting reconstruction of an image that is bright and clear and has low chromatic dispersion, which is the feature of the reflection type volume hologram. A transmissively viewable reflection hologram has a semitransparent reflecting mirror or a semitransparent reflecting layer placed at either side of a reflection type volume hologram member. The semitransparent reflecting mirror or the semitransparent reflecting layer is integral with or separate from the reflection type volume hologram member.

  • Publication number: 20020001109
Abstract: The invention provides a computer-generated hologram which can be viewed in white at the desired viewing region and a reflective liquid crystal display using the same as a reflector. The computer-generated hologram H is designed to diffuse light having a given reference wavelength &lgr;STD and incident thereon at a given angle of incidence &thgr; in a specific angle range. In a range of wavelengths &lgr;MIN to &lgr;MAX including the reference wavelength &lgr;STD wherein zero-order transmission light or zero-order reflection light of incident light on the computer-generated hologram at a given angle of incidence is seen in white by additive color mixing, the maximum diffraction angle &bgr;2MIN of incident light of the minimum wavelength &lgr;MIN in the wavelength range and incident at the angle of incidence &thgr; is larger than the minimum diffraction angle &bgr;1MAX of incident light of the maximum wavelength &lgr;MAX in the wavelength range and incident at said angle of incidence &thgr;.
