  • Patent number: 11854504
Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel having a display region in which pixels are arranged; scan lines each coupled to the pixels arranged in a row direction; signal lines each coupled to the pixels arranged in a column direction; a signal line drive circuit; a scan line drive circuit selecting the scan lines; and a signal processing circuit. A second half period of a selection period of a first scan line overlaps a first half period of a selection period of a second scan line. The signal processing circuit adjusts a pixel gradation value of the pixel in an m-th column coupled to the second scan line when a difference value between the pixel gradation value of the pixel in the m-th column coupled to the first scan line and an average gradation value of the pixels arranged in the m-th column is larger than a predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20230317026
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel and a processing unit. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes a plurality of pixel electrodes, a plurality of switching elements, a common electrode and an optical sensor. The optical sensor outputs a detection signal corresponding to an amount of light coming from the liquid crystal layer side. The processing unit adjusts a common voltage supplied to the common electrode, based on a first detection signal output from the optical sensor when the display panel is in a positive polarity state, and a second detection signal output from the optical sensor when the display panel is in a negative polarity state.
