  • Publication number: 20050279429
Abstract: There is disclosed a cast-forged product of an aluminum alloy consisting essentially of: 0.6 to 1.8 wt % of silicon; 0.6 to 1.8 wt % of magnesium; 0.8 wt % or less of copper; 0.2 to 1.0 wt % of manganese; 0.25 wt % or less of chromium; 0.0 to 0.15 wt % of titanium; and unavoidably contained impurities. When the product is used as various parts for automobiles formed of aluminum, such as suspension parts, frames, and parts for engines, the product is more superior in mechanical properties such as a tensile strength, proof stress, and elongation, and can be manufactured with a low cost.

  • Publication number: 20040221931
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method for manufacturing an aluminum cast-forged product by forging a preform made of a material for forging obtained by casting a material for forging of an aluminum alloy, and an aluminum cast-forged product produced thereby. Forming is performed by heating the preform made of a material for forging at a temperature of from approximately 450° C. to a melting point of the alloy. In this method, a recycled material may be used as a starting material, and some omission of the steps may be possible. There is provided a method for manufacturing an aluminum cast-forged product having excellent mechanical properties, such as, a higher tensile strength, higher proof stress, higher elongation, and the like with a lower production cost.

  • Publication number: 20040045693
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for casting a forged material and a mold usable therefor. A finished metal product which is free from the internal defects is manufactured by solidifying a forged material in a specified direction, with concentrating the defects in the riser portion of the mold for casting a forged material. The finished metal product having a lightweight is produced with a less cost, resultantly, carbon dioxide discharged from the automobiles is reduced, thereby the present invention can contribute to environmental protection measures such as preventing global warming.

  • Publication number: 20030056361
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method for manufacturing metal which includes a step of melting a forged material, and a step of casting a molten forged material to obtain a preform made of forged material, and a step of forging the preform made of forged material, and an apparatus therefor. The preform made of forged material comprises one or more of standardized preforms made of forged material having an approximately cylindrical form with the same cross sectional shape, but a different length. According to the present method and the present apparatus, one may produce metal products to which excellent mechanical properties are impaired by subjecting standardized preforms to the forging treatment with an improved productivity and reduced production cost.

  • Publication number: 20030010412
Abstract: An aluminum casting forged product is provided by using an aluminum alloy for casting forge including a useless raw material for forging such as flash as a raw material and by controlling a weight percentage of an alloy element such as silicon, magnesium, copper, and manganese; the product having an enhanced fluidity, and an improved castability, with retaining a sufficient strength, preventing useless intermetallic compounds from forming, restraining deterioration due to oxidation and corrosion, and further improved strength by a forging effect: and there is also provided a simple manufacturing method, with a high yield and high productivity. An aluminum casting forged product of high tensile strength, high proof, and elongation, higher mechanical properties than those of the conventional casting forged product, high corrosion resistance, and high quality without defects, and being low in cost is also obtainable as a thick-wall aluminum product.
