  • Publication number: 20190308228
Abstract: A system and method for cleaning steam generators is disclosed as comprising a housing disposed within the steam generator, a cartridge removably disposed within the housing, deliming crystals disposed within the cartridge, a water inlet port fluidically connected to the housing for permitting water to enter the housing and the cartridge so as to mix with the deliming crystals so as to form a deliming crystalline solution, a water exit port fluidically connected to the housing for permitting the deliming crystalline solution to flow out from the housing, and a control system operatively connected to the housing and to the source of water so as to control water fill and drain cycles throughout the steam generator so as to permit the deliming crystalline solution to flow through the steam generator, delime the valves, valve seats, and water fill probes, and be drained out from the steam generator upon completion of the cleaning operation.

  • Patent number: 6153105
Abstract: A system for disinfecting water in an ice-making machine having a water inlet for receiving an incoming stream of water, a supply of recirculating water, a reservoir for containing the supply of recirculating water, a transport conduit for transporting water from the reservoir, and an evaporator plate which receives water from the transport conduit and over which at least one of the incoming stream and the recirculating supply can flow to form ice. The system comprises a device for treating at least one of the incoming stream and the recirculating supply in the transport conduit before the water from either flows over the evaporator plate.

  • Patent number: 5888381
Abstract: A faucet mounted water filtration system with a filter life monitor includes a filter housing with a flexible cap which deflects upon introduction of water into the housing. The deflection of the cap closes a switch on an electrical circuit which counts the time the water is flowing through the housing. Once a predetermined amount of time accumulates, the circuit generates a message to inform the user that the filter needs replacement. The invention further includes a selector switch on the electrical circuit for signaling the circuit to count one of two predetermined amounts of time prior to generating a message.

  • Patent number: 4770770
Abstract: A water supply system for use in connection with a variety of water using equipment such, for example, as commercial ice makers and commercial steam cooking equipment wherein the water supply system utilizes a reverse osmosis unit thereby providing water of low mineral content to be used as product water in the equipment and at the same time utilizing the waste water generated from use of the reverse osmosis unit to provide cooling or condensing water for the same units to which the low mineral water is supplied.
