Abstract: An operating mechanism has dual action control in both the axial and normal directions described for a plugboard system or the like to connect and disconnect selective electrical terminals in housing modules of a front bay with respective electrical terminals in housing modules of a rear bay. The dual action operating mechanism moves the front bay relative to the rear bay in a straight inward direction thereby electrically connecting selective electrical terminals of the front and rear bays together; and a subframe of the rear bay is moved a preselected distance by the mechanism in a normal direction to apply a contact force to connect other selective electrical terminals of the front and rear bay.

Abstract: A coaxial right-angle plug connector includes a "clean" right-angle inner contact member having a continuous insulative cover molded therearound including the bend to be self-retaining thereon and to have consistently concentric coaxial outer surfaces, with larger diameter cover portions around the portion within the conductive housing. The front horizontal contact portion and the outer contact therearound mate with contact means of conventional receptacle connectors, while the vertical portion of the inner contact descends from the housing near the front thereof reducing the length of the signal path and lessening reflection.

Abstract: A right angle coaxial plug connector comprises a mounting member in an upper surface of which is disposed a channel which is in communication with a hole normal to the channel. A contact pin extends outwardly from a bottom surface of the mounting member. A center contact is disposed along a dielectric member located within a tubular outer contact, the outer contact being electrically secured within the channel. A front section of the center contact extends outwardly from a front surface of the outer contact while a right-angled rear section of the center contact extends along a dielectric medium in the hole of the mounting member and includes a pin section extending outwardly from the mounting member parallel to the pin contact, the pin section and the pin contact being electrically connectable respectively to a ground plane and a signal path on a card.

Abstract: An operating mechanism for a plugboard system to connect and disconnect electrical terminals of a front bay with respective electrical terminals of a rear bay comprises hanger plates and sliding cam plates mounted on a rear frame, the cam plates having profiled cam slots and L-shaped slots therein. An operating member is pivotally mounted into the rear frame and includes rollers which are disposed in the L-shaped slots so that when the operating member is moved from one position to another position, the rollers move along the L-shaped slots causing the cam plates to move along the rear frame which causes the cam slots to linearly move support members on a front frame thereby connecting or disconnecting the electrical terminals.
