    Abstract: A safety attachment for a ladder of the type which comprises a pair of spaced apart parallel side rails and a plurality of rungs extending between the side rails. The safety attachment includes a pair of tubular members, each of which is secured to a corresponding one of the side rails of the ladder. Two extension arms are also provided. One end of each of the extension arms has a friction pad secured thereto. The other end of each extension arm is pivotally attached to the top end of a corresponding one of the tubular members.
