  • Patent number: 4303102
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved hose ending and method of forming same in which uncured hose is fitted over an end piece having a metal collar therearound. A multi-segment collar is then clamped over the uncured hose, and an overlying metal collar is slipped over the segmented collar as the temporary clamp is removed. Additional uncured hose material is wrapped over the overlying metal collar, and the assembly is placed in a mold and cured.

  • Patent number: 4243073
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved surge stabilizer for reducing and controlling pressure surges and vibrations which cause destructive wear to pumps. The stabilizer includes a cylindrical case which is placed in pressure communication with the pump working fluid, and an internal pressurizable cylindrical cartridge having a flexible sidewall and end caps, one of which is attached to one end of the case. A control rod is slidingly fitted in bores in the caps, thereby eliminating the tendency of the cartridge to "piston" longitudinally. Further control of the compression characteristics of the cartridge is obtained by providing multiple plies of equal length in the sidewall of the cartridge, and by utilizing reinforcing cords in the plies wrapped at a selected bias or angle.

  • Patent number: 4122969
Abstract: Disclosed is a safety closure apparatus for a pressure vessel, particularly for a vessel such as a pump stabilizer which has a gas compartment and a liquid compartment therein, both of which are normally pressurized. The apparatus includes a safety head configured to cover the closure means of the vessel to prevent its actuation; a liquid pressure bleed valve which must be removed before the safety hood can be moved off of the closure means, thereby insuring depressurization of the liquid compartment prior to opening; and gas pressure bleed means automatically operable upon movement of the safety hood off of the closure means, thereby also insuring depressurization of the gas compartment before access can be had to the closure means to actuate it to open the vessel.
