  • Publication number: 20050044002
Abstract: A system for processing applications from customers for manufacture of vehicle parts is provided. The system includes a server configured to generate an application interface on a customer client in communication with the server through a network. The server is further configured to receive a completed application for manufacture of a part of a vehicle from the customer through the customer client using the application interface. The completed application has information including a first set of information regarding operating conditions of the vehicle, a second set of information defining specifications for the part of the vehicle for which the application to manufacture is being submitted, and a third set of information regarding another part of the vehicle functionally interrelated with said part of the vehicle for which the application for manufacture is being submitted.

  • Patent number: 6855083
Abstract: An inter-axle differential assembly comprises an input shaft, an output shaft arranged coaxially with respect to each other, a differential gearing and a dedicated reversible lubrication pump disposed between the input and output shafts. The reversible gerotor type lubrication pump includes a rotor driven by the input shaft, and an impeller, both disposed within a pump body coupled to a side gear drivingly connected to the output shaft. Thus, the lubrication pump generates lubricant flow only during the differential action between the input shaft and the output shaft, i.e. when needed. An oil flow generated by the lubrication pump is supplied to various components of the inter-axle differential gearing through a gallery of fluid passages.

Thus, the lubrication pump generates lubricant flow only during the differential action between the input shaft and the output shaft, i.e. only when needed and at a flow rate proportional to the speed difference across the differential assembly. An oil flow generated by the lubrication pump is supplied to various components of the inter-axle differential assembly through a gallery of fluid passages.

  • Patent number: 5979903
Abstract: A slinger for use between a housing and a rotatable member passing therethrough includes an engaging member for mounting on the rotatable member, a slinger portion extending radially outward from the engaging portion, and a sealing portion generally axially extending from the slinger portion wherein the sealing portion extends radially outward when subjected to centrifugal force caused by rotation of the rotatable member to form a secondary seal. The slinger may be formed of a translucent polymer to facilitate a visual inspection of a primary seal located behind the slinger.
