  • Patent number: 10506653
Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a meter interface device may attempt to join a third party wireless network, in addition to a mobile transceiver network, in response to a power-up procedure or a reset procedure. Additionally, the meter interface device may simultaneously operate in multiple modes of communications. The meter interface device may select the third party wireless network based on preference information and back-off information. The meter interface device may wait a back-off period, after an unsuccessful attempt to join the third party wireless network, before re-attempting to join the third party wireless network. The meter interface device may also attach to one or multiple other networks including a fixed network.

Date of Patent: December 10, 2019
    Assignee: NEPTUNE TECHNOLOGY GROUP INC.
Inventors: Charles P. Brunson, IV, Gloice Dean Works, III, Robert Dale Reed

  • Publication number: 20060116022
Abstract: A connector system allows for visual determination of mating or engagement of a jack-side connector and a plug-side connector. A jack-side connector has a first securing device and a plug-side connector having a sleeve rotatably coupled thereto. The sleeve has a second securing device that is complementary to the first securing device and an indicator located on an edge of the sleeve. The indicator is contrasted against a characteristic (e.g., color, material, etc.) of a portion (e.g., a washer) of the connector system to provide visual indication that the first securing device is securely engaged with the second securing device.

  • Patent number: 6931817
Abstract: An automatic grocery bag opener automatically opens plastic and polyethylene bags with forced air in produce departments and at checkout counters of grocery stores. Bags are held in position from any of several different types of hangers on the front of the enclosure. The outside bag is forced and held open by the forced airstream from the air supply. The bag can then be filled with the grocery items. Once the bag is filled, it is removed from the hangers and the next bag is automatically blown and held open. As long as the motion sensor sees movement, the blower stays on. If no movement is seen by the motion sensor, the motion sensor ends an electric signal, thus turning off the blower. In turn, if the motion sensor sees a motion, an electric signal is sent to the blower and turns the bagger back on.
