Abstract: A computing system receives encrypted data that can be decrypted by a first secret to obtain data, wherein the first secret is securely stored by the system, determines that the data encodes a second secret and executable code usable to perform cryptographic operations, and run the executable code to perform the cryptographic operations. The first secret may be a one-time pad.

Abstract: A resource generates and provides discovery configuration information to a network appliance. The network appliance validates the discovery configuration information, such as by validating a token within the discovery configuration information, then is configured using at least the discovery configuration information and passes at least a portion of the discovery configuration information to a network disjoint from that which connects the resource and the network appliance. This portion of discovery configuration information may include service advertisement information, routing information for traversing the network topology, and in some embodiments, the validation token.

Abstract: Techniques for determining age-content type appropriate ratings for a media on behalf of a user may be provided. For example, information about age-content type appropriate ratings for a plurality of media works may be maintained where the information is associated with a particular user. A determination of whether the particular user has consumed a media work in response to receiving an indication that a user is browsing to the media work in a user interface may be provided. A group that the user belongs to may be identified based on other users that have specified age-content type appropriate ratings for the plurality of media works that are within a range of ratings provided by the user for the plurality of media works. Age-content appropriate ratings for the media work may be determined for the particular user based on an algorithm using the information and the ratings specified by the group.
