  • Publication number: 20040016138
Abstract: A dual axis flexible rule is predisposed to a curved configuration, but is adapted to be pressed more flat in use. The rule includes a curved portion and a substantially non-curved or flat portion, and enables transcribing straight lines onto curved surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6286806
Abstract: An adjustable mounting apparatus for carrying a camera or other sensor in a small helicopter or other moving platform and isolating the camera from vibration without modification of the aircraft or other platform, and a method for using a sensor such as a camera in a small aircraft or other moving platform operated by a single person. A base portion of the apparatus is carried on a cushioned seat, and a universally adjustable mast is carried on the base in a selected position with respect to the platform and isolated from the base by an elastomeric cushion to eliminate vibration. A camera or other sensor is carried on a servo-controlled attachment fixture fastened to the top of the mast, and a video monitor is located in view of the aircraft operator. Servo-controls for adjusting and operating the camera or other sensor are located in reach of the aircraft operator. A cart is used for storage and to support the mast during installation or removal of the base.

  • Patent number: 5138852
Abstract: A triple-lock handcuff of the type having a blade pivotally joined to spaced-apart cheek plates for movement through a locking channel includes several improvements. The lock assembly includes first and second pawl members resiliently urged toward the channel independently of one another by separate springs. A key operated extractor block carries a yoke for moving both pawl members simultaneously away from the channel to open the handcuff. The first and second pawl members are spaced-apart within the locking channel. An elongate resilient cushion is arranged along the inner edge of the blade so as to assume a first unloaded profile capable of passing between the cheek plates and, alternately, a second profile when bearing upon a limb, incapable of passing between the cheek plates. A sleeve detachably fastens the cushion to the blade's inner edge while leaving the blade's outer edge free of overlay.

  • Patent number: 4995672
Abstract: A contoured vehicle seat back and a belt restraint which cooperate to safely secure and immobilize a rearwardly handcuffed prisoner for transport is disclosed. The contoured seat back includes a pair of downwardly converging channels therein for receiving and engaging the arms of the occupant. A central lower pocket for receiving the cuffed hands of the occupant is recessed into the seat back proximate the lower extremities of the channels. The belt restraint includes a cinching handle detachably mounted to the seat belt latching mechanism which can be detached from the latching mechanism and used to tighten the seat belt urging the occupant into engagement with the contoured seat back.

  • Patent number: 4680210
Abstract: An elongate directional marker has a triangular head and an elliptical body. Low-tack repositionable adhesive applied to the head of the marker enables the marker to be repeatedly reused. The markers are manufactured in an array by pattern-gluing adhesive strips to face stock, laminating a liner to the face stock and die cutting the markers out of the face stock so that the triangular heads of the markers are intermeshed in alternating orientation on the adhesive strips.
