  • Patent number: 10996220
Abstract: Methods for preparing a dilution series for use in forming calibration curves, preferably in the field of surface plasmon resonance, are provided. In one example, a dilution series is prepared by using receptacles such as tubes of a micro well plate in which samples of the dilution series are mixed. In another example, a dilution series is prepared by using a convection mix in a receptacle for achieving a concentration gradient in the sample. A biosensor system arranged to perform steps of methods disclosed are provided. A data processing apparatus and a software for performing steps of methods disclosed, and a computer readable medium for storing the software are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150287133
Abstract: A method reduces the risk of robbery/theft, for example during transportation of banknotes or storage of banknotes. The method is performed before or during a transport from, or storage at the sender. A banknote that is intended to be locked is registered, read and/or imaged. The banknote identity is stored as a Banknote-ID. Auxiliary information is registered and/or generated at the sender. A locking/blocking request includes at least one banknote identity and auxiliary local memory, whereby the banknote is indicated as locked in the central server, after receiving the transport/storage at the receiver. An unlocking/relocking request can be sent to a central server and/or to a local memory; and the auxiliary information from the receiver is checked to determine if it fulfills the conditions set in the auxiliary information from the sender and/or the predetermined conditions stored in the central server.

  • Patent number: 7464446
Abstract: Method for obtaining an improved but easily adjustable and releasable frictional engagement between two contact surfaces. According to the method, both contact surfaces are provided with material layers (2, 4) which, when there is low contact pressure between the contact surfaces, ensure that these surfaces are able to move comparatively easily in relation to each other, but, when there is higher contact pressure, these material layers engage in each other and make relative movement between the contact surfaces impossible or substantially difficult. This can be achieved by means of both contact surfaces being flocked with a layer of short fibers (5), in particular synthetic fibers. The invention also relates to an arrangement for obtaining an improved frictional engagement between two contact surfaces and to objects provided with such contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6508115
Abstract: A transfer roll 1 for conveying a strip of substantially flat material from one device to another. The strip passes over the transfer roll as the transfer roll rotates. The transfer roll includes a flat and smooth cylindrical outer skin which comprises at least two cylindrical elements. Between the cylindrical elements is arranged a mean 7 for reducing the mechanical stiffness of the cylindrical skin relative to the stiffness of the remainder of the cylindrical skin 2. Suitable means such as a welded joint 9 of reduced cross sectional thickness compared to the remainder of the cylinder are described. Such means separate the cylinder mechanically into a plurality of measurement areas with a predetermined degree of crosstalk. The transfer roll may be used to measure force or tension in strip material more accurately than with previous devices.

  • Patent number: 5941047
Abstract: A method of laying floors or like surfaces with desired material, wherein the floors or like surfaces are supported by or comprised of rigid units in the form of boards or like elements. The boards are provided with tongues and grooves on respective edges thereof to enable boards to be joined to mutually adjacent boards. The method is mainly characterized by using boards that have been provided with a friction layer on their undersides. A corresponding friction layer is placed on the underlying sub-floor. A sheet of material is removably placed on the underside of the boards and transfers and places one board adjacent to another board. The boards are laid loosely on the friction layer of the sub-floor and mutually joined to adjacent boards solely by coacting between the tongues and grooves of respective boards in the absence of any binder.

  • Patent number: 5665191
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and to an arrangement for creating in a web (1) of sheet material a fold which includes at least one elastic thread (4). The web is placed on two mutually separated carrier elements (2, 3), and at least one prestretched elastic thread (4) is placed over the web in the space between the opposing edges of the carrier elements.

  • Patent number: 5221390
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for positioning at least one thread, band or like element in a pre-determined pattern above a conveyor path with the aid of thread outfeed device having at least one thread outlet device. In accordance with the invention, the thread outlet, or each thread outlet, is moved in a simple or a composite rotational path in a plane parallel with the conveyor path, and the path is moved linearly in relation to the rotational axis of the thread outlet. This will cause the thread outlet to move in a spiral-like movement path relative to the conveyor path. The conveyor path has mounted thereon dogging elements which are located within the spiral-like movement path of the thread outlet, such as to enable the thread to be laid out in a pattern determined by the dogging elements. The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the method.
