  • Patent number: 10713344
Abstract: A method for secure user identification is disclosed, comprising the steps of: creating a first user identification; uniquely associating the user identification with the user; recording, using the identification device, an unknown user's head from a range of positions and using illumination in different wavelengths; retrieving a second user identification; and comparing, using the identification device, the second user identification against the recording of the unknown user's head and a plurality of measured movements of the unknown user's head and hand to identify the unknown user.

  • Publication number: 20200153793
Abstract: A system for providing security blockchain systems where at least some users are on insecure networks is disclosed. The system includes a security gateway that inspects requests for compliance using a rules engine according to a plurality of rules and passes compliant requests to their respective intended destinations. Compliance inspection includes at least checking credentials of a sender of each request. A transaction resulting from a request is blocked if it would result in an asset transfer to a non-whitelisted address on an insecure network.

  • Publication number: 20200136391
Abstract: Systems and methods for shut-down of a photovoltaic system. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a computer system includes: communicating, via a central controller, with a plurality of local management units (LMUs), each of the LMUs coupled to control a respective solar module; receiving, via the central controller, a shut-down signal from a user device (e.g., a hand-held device, a computer, or a wireless switch unit); and in response to receiving the shut-down signal, shutting down operation of the respective solar module for each of the LMUs.

  • Publication number: 20200099512
Abstract: A system and method providing a security gateway for high security blockchain systems, that acts as a firewall (and manages users, rules, data access, transactions, fees, etc.), has the ability to understand and enforce blockchain business processes policies (access policy and transaction policy of a blockchain solution that may or may not support smart contracts), and can understand tokens and their functionality, without totally disabling code execution, for example from smart contracts or tokens enabled by smart contracts.

  • Publication number: 20200065794
Abstract: A system for transacting in an environment with intermittent connectivity via a network backbone to a blockchain. A merchant device transmits a set of credentials for an ad hoc network to a buyer device and establishes a private peer-to-peer ad hoc network connection with the buyer device. It then conducts a transaction with the buyer device via the private peer-to-peer ad hoc network. If no network connection is available to a transaction blockchain, the merchant device stores a record of the transaction until such network becomes available and later sends the record of the transaction to the transaction blockchain.

  • Patent number: 10552556
Abstract: A system for performance testing of scalability implementations and testing of stability in blockchain database implementations. The testing system comprises a cluster of private blockchain nodes instantiated on a network and a control console that allows the user to set the number of nodes in the network and the number of clients for testing of a particular blockchain implementation. Performance metrics are established and tested. The test system allows for staged testing using generated databases, wallets, and accounts starting with simple 5-node networks, expanding to larger networks, then testing with decreased block validation times, continuing to testing using alternative, faster trust schemes, then testing implementation on divided blockchains, and finally testing on shared blockchains.

  • Patent number: 10454275
Abstract: A system and method to collect energy from generation systems such as, for example, wind farms or solar farms with widely distributed energy-generation equipment. In some cases, static inverters are used to feed the energy directly into the power grid. In some other cases, back-to-back static inverters are used create a high-voltage DC transmission line to collect power from multiple generation sites into one feed-in site.

  • Publication number: 20190303886
Abstract: A multi-tiered blockchain database system which retains the desirable features of blockchain technology but reduces or eliminates its limitations. The system allows for a primary tier blockchain database that acts as a common linkage to a plurality of lower tier, regional databases with their own separate blockchains. Blockchains at the lower tiers may have a variety of improvements over existing blockchain technology for handling certain applications. One application of this multi-tiered blockchain database is implementation of a cryptocurrency.

  • Publication number: 20190278091
Abstract: A system projects a user-viewable, computer-generated or -fed image, wherein a head-mounted projector is used to project an image onto a retro-reflective surface, so only the viewer can see the image. The projector is connected to a computer that contains software to create virtual 2-D and or 3-D images for viewing by the user. Further, one projector each is mounted on either side of the user's head, and, by choosing for example a retro angle of less than about 10 degrees, each eye can only see the image of one of the projectors at a given distance up to 3 meters, in this example, from the retro-reflective screen. The retro angle used may be reduced with larger viewing distance desired. These projectors use lasers to avoid the need for focusing, and in some cases these projectors use instead of lasers highly collimated LED light sources to avoid the need for focusing.

  • Publication number: 20190180323
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system, is provided to take not just a person's time and location into consideration, but also has knowledge of and takes into account their availability, their preferences, their schedule, their purpose for being at their current location, and/or their next goal or stop. One embodiment is able to take into account a real-time view of supplier inventory and deduce and make available much better-adapted offerings and support for that person's travels and endeavors. In one embodiment, having an understanding of a rate of conversion and its relation to traffic and weather patterns allows service providers to make more accurate predictions about various items, including but not limited to, conversion rates, offer types, offer upgrades, traffic etc. In yet another aspect of the invention, the information collected from many travelers, and also information collected from airlines and weather observers, etc.

  • Patent number: 10262309
Abstract: Approaches for augmenting a BIOS with a new program. A BIOS provides an interface through which a user may select one or more programs from a plurality of offered programs. When the BIOS receives input from the user that selects a particular program, the BIOS retrieves, over a network, the particular program. Received applications may be stored in the BIOS or in a hidden file that the BIOS can also access without booting the operating system. An online application store can offer applications that are signed by the BIOS issuer as being approved for plug-in applications for use in a pre-boot or post-boot environment.
