  • Publication number: 20170208981
Abstract: A number of mounting systems are provided for mounting a sheet element with respect to a rail element. In one example, the mounting system includes an elongate mounting tape having a first longitudinal edge portion and a second longitudinal edge portion spaced by a width spacing from the first longitudinal edge portion. The first longitudinal edge portion is configured for being affixed to the sheet element. The second longitudinal edge portion includes a plurality of rail-engaging elements in spaced relationship along the second longitudinal edge portion, the rail-engaging elements being configured for engaging with the rail element and for enabling selective longitudinal movement between the mounting tape and the rail element. The mounting tape is elastically deformable in a width direction, at least when the mounting tape is affixed to the flexible sheet.

  • Patent number: 8869356
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a waterproof zipper (2) comprising: joining teeth (6), each consolidated by a consolidating block (24) and contactably grasping the tape (4) of the zipper (2), separating the tape (4) from the opposite tape of said zipper; and a soft seal (8), wrapping and expanding (towards 48) each of the two tapes (4) beyond the joining line (78) of the tapes (4); thereby applying pressure between the soft seals (8) at the joining line (78), resulting in tight sealing of the two soft seals (8).

  • Patent number: 5595488
Abstract: Apparatus and method for monitoring and for improving the state of alertness of a subject while he continues to perform a primary task, driving a vehicle, operating machinery, etc. The apparatus includes stimulation apparatus for issuing stimuli to the subject and response apparatus for enabling the subject to reply to the stimuli. The stimuli can be audible, visual or tactile. Test results are processed and compared to baseline values taken when the subject is displaying a normal state of alertness. The rate of activation of the stimulation apparatus increases inversely with a deteriorating state of alertness of the subject to improve the state of alertness of the subject. The apparatus can be fashioned in a wide range of devices including a hand-held portable device, a wristwatch, a behind-the-ear (BTE) clip, a pair of spectacles, and for installation in a steering wheel.
