Abstract: The present invention pertains generally to the field of therapeutic compounds. More specifically the present invention pertains to certain aldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitor compounds (also referred to herein as “ALDHI compounds”), that, inter alia, inhibit aldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme ALDH1A3. The present invention also pertains to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and the use of such compounds and compositions, both in vitro and in vivo, to inhibit ALDH1A3 enzyme; to treat disorder (e.g., diseases) that are ameliorated by the inhibition of ALDHIA3 enzyme; to treat a proliferative disorder, cancer, obesity, diabetes, a cardiovascular disorder, etc.

Abstract: A garment for wearing post-surgery, comprising first and second panel portions constructed of an elastic material, a closure mechanism for detachably attaching the edges of the panel portions, and, an elastic support band associated with either the upper or bottom area of the panel portions. The garment may further include at least one retention strip of material associated in at least one place on the first or second panel portions. At least one retention member is adapted to removably attach to the retention strip. At least one pouch that can hold a drainage bulb, monitoring device, or other item, may also be removably attached to the retention strip. The garment may be constructed as a vest, girdle, leg sleeve, or other form.

Abstract: A brassiere garment for post-mastectomy surgery including a vest portion having a first and second cup, a front closure, a support band associated with a bottom portion of the garment, and at least one elastic strip. The garment may also include at least one removable retention member and a removable pouch.

Abstract: A compression garment for use after cardiothoracic surgery, comprising a body panel configured to lie in proximity to an upper region of a patient and formed from a compression material, and including a front side adjacent to a front upper region of the wearer, and a rear side configured to lie adjacent to a rear upper region of the patient. Further included is a shoulder strap associated with the rear side of the body panel and configured to extend away from the rear side and configured to removably associate with the front side of the body panel, the shoulder strap is adjustable to adjust the extension of the shoulder strap. The garment also includes a pillow formed in the front side, the pillow having a generally oblong shape and sized to project inwardly towards the patient, the pillow configured to apply pressure to the sternal area.

Abstract: A garment having a molded expanded area, such as proximate to an articulable area such as a knee, elbow, shoulder, heel, or other joint area, comprising at least one panel of a woven fabric having elasticity in both the warp and weft directions, and an expanded area in the fabric material formed by heating a portion of the fabric material in a mold such that the fabric is stretched and maintained after removal from the mold in the stretched state. The garment may also comprise at least one opening in a panel proximate to the expanded area for permitting access to the wearer's skin while wearing the garment. The at least one opening may be formed by a first and second flap, with a portion of the first flap overlapping the second flap.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an electromagnetic coil assembly for a surgical navigation tracking system which may be used during image-guided surgery. A medical instrument assembly for an electromagnetic surgical navigation system, may comprise a tracking sensor interface included within a handle of a medical instrument, the interface having a first mating surface. Further, the assembly may include a tracking sensor including a second mating surface and one or more electromagnetic coils, where the tracking sensor is removably coupled to the tracking sensor interface of the medical instrument via an attachment device included on one or more of the first mating surface and second mating surface.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a patient reference assembly for an electromagnetic tracking system for use in image-guided surgery. In one embodiment, a patient reference assembly for an electromagnetic surgical navigation system includes a mounting platform including a first mating interface and an attachment interface shaped to couple to a patient.

Abstract: A wearable elastic band including at least one pouch for holding an article. The band may be formed of a length of elastic material that is folded to have a first portion forming a rear pouch wall and a second portion forming a front pouch wall, the space between the first and second portions defining a pouch opening, and a third portion forming a flap that overlaps the pouch opening. The pouch has left and right sides defined by a tack stitch on each side. The pouch may be accessed by lifting the flap, which is stretchable. After a user places an item in the pouch, the flap is released to regain its initial configuration to form a cover over the opening and protect the item from inadvertently leaving the pouch.

Abstract: A construction for a baseball or softball having a raised seam is provided. The ball includes a core and first and second cover pieces. Each cover piece has an inner surface, an outer surface and a peripheral edge. A bead of hot melt adhesive is adhered to the inner surface of each cover piece in a pattern substantially parallel to and located inside of the peripheral edge. After the hot melt adhesive hardens, it forms a strip of elastomeric material. Then the cover pieces are placed together about the core of the ball and stitched together with the beads of hot melt adhesive material located within the stitching, so that the beads support the cover pieces to form a raised seam on the ball. The hot melt adhesive material is preferably selected to have a durometer hardness comparable to that of the core of the ball, so that the ball will perform substantially the same regardless of whether it is struck on-seam or off-seam by a batter.

Abstract: A method for protecting reflective delineator stripes includes the use of spacer beads disposed along the stripe to protect reflective beads disposed thereon. The spacer beads are of a greater diameter than the reflective beads so that snowplow blades and the like will contact the spacer beads but not the reflective beads. As the snowplow blades impact the spacer beads, the snowplow blades travel along the top of the spacer beads, thereby avoiding contact with the reflective beads.
