  • Publication number: 20230342686
Abstract: The present application discloses an improved transportation matching system, and corresponding methods and computer-readable media. According to disclosed embodiments, a transportation matching system receives session information from a requestor computing device in response to one or more session events. The system utilizes the received session information to determine a likelihood that the associated session on the requestor computing device will result in a transportation request. If the determined likelihood is above a threshold amount, the system generates an upfront dispatch that matches the associated session to a provider computing device. The system then reserves the provider computing device and generates a predicted dispatch for the reserved provider computing device.

  • Publication number: 20200279194
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include providing and making use of uncertain ETA information. Inaccurate ETA information may result in ride cancellations, poor experience on the part of transportation requestors and providers, and reduced transportation network efficiency. Errors in ETA estimates may be introduced in various ways, including inaccurate starting location data for providers, variable delays in provider navigation readiness, providers failing to react in time to take expected routes to newly assigned destinations, and driving conditions en route. By estimating both the likelihood various scenarios that impact ETA and the impact of these scenarios on arrival time, the method may provide information about the uncertainty of ETA information. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190311629
Abstract: The present application discloses an improved transportation matching system, and corresponding methods and computer-readable media. According to disclosed embodiments, a transportation matching system provides a virtual queue in connection with a congested venue. In response to receiving a transportation request from a requestor at a congested venue, the system adds the requestor to a virtual queue. The system then adjusts the virtual queue position as necessary based on the requestor's speed and direction of travel in relation to the venue's pickup location. When the requestor reaches the front of the virtual queue, the system provides a requestor identifier to the requestor. The requestor can then use the requestor identifier to engage any available provider at the venue's pickup location.

  • Publication number: 20180300660
Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques, including systems and methods, for allowing providers to claim scheduled rides. For example, a provider (e.g., a driver) may review and claim scheduled rides through a scheduled rides interface before the scheduled ride is ready to be provided. The scheduled rides provided through the scheduled ride interface may be limited to those requests that are associated with areas and times that have a lower chance of successfully being matched at the request time. Accordingly, scheduled requests may be filtered from a real-time scheduled ride feed based on the chance of successfully matching a scheduled ride at the time of the request and may be targeted to candidate providers for review and claiming by the candidate providers.
